Who?

I mean this is the list of teams.

Alabama
Arkansas
Auburn
LSU
Ole Miss
Texas A&M

I can see Auburn being last in the west, but who else? The only other team anyone would have considered would have been LSU, but LSU just beat them.

So that leaves Auburn.

The only team I could see them finishing ahead of is Auburn, and even that is not certain.

Is your evaluation of teams based purely on the SEC Media Days press predictions? Did you watch a single game this season? I don't think you did.

Then why can't you name the team?

Assuming MSU beats A&M again that's another. Arkansas is pretty good but choking away the game against A&M also puts then in position to finish in the bottom half of the West. Their game against MSU probably determines their final standing

Until proven otherwise Alabama is going to win the West. The middle five teams are all up for grabs

I mean I could conceivably see State finish anywhere from 2nd to last in the West.

Why are you so convinced they're bad?

I'll give Napier a B+. We've played the hardest schedule in the country thus far and he's 2-2. If not for an AR meltdown vs UK I think we probably would have had that game.

Impressed with the demeanor of our team, think we probably would have quit vs USF and Tennessee with Mullen at the helm.

Napier is not afraid to takes risks, I do like that. His play calling and in game decisions can be questionable. Definitely should hire a real OC IMO.

Recruiting is definitely on the right path.

I'd love to see them finish better, and I'd love to see them kick the shite out of A&M this weekend. Could happen, I don't know the future. Teams wins and lose games they shouldn't all the time.

But it's not really the most likely of scenarios. What's most likely is they finish 2nd last in the West.

I also hope LSU can talk about a top15 win they have after this coming weekend by kicking the shite out of Tennessee. Could happen. But is it the most likely thing to happen? No.

So when evaluating teams, I'm going to look at what I think is most likely. Maybe that'll be different next week, but right now it's most likely that Miss St will finish 2nd to last in the West. Even if they manage to pull a win out against another SEC west team(other than auburn, who I think they will beat), it's still going to be way down there.

I mean how are you evaluating them exactly? Ole Miss has struggled vs some of their cupcakes, Aggie has certainly struggled a lot, Arkansas has looked spectacularly bad in back to back weeks.

Hard to say with certainty that Mississippi State looks worse than them right now, especially with how much of a veteran roster that they have.

Are you suggesting I'm unique in this?

Btw, not a single LSU fan has named a team they expect to finish behind Miss St.

I personally think it's way too early to know who will finish where.

You said you couldn't see Mississippi State being better than 2nd to worst in the West so I was just curious what makes you think they're bad at this early of a juncture, especially when numerous other teams have looked really awful at times.

This.

The reality is that a B coach would have LSU at 4-0 right now. They're at 3-1. Thus my grade of C-.

Now my basis of what a B coach is would be the average Mark Richt coaching year. In my mind, he's a B level coach through and through. If you think Mark Richt is better than a B, then you might have Kelly higher on that scale. But he's in the sub-Mark Richt zone right now.

Again.. that's based on 4 games. He's got plenty of time to do better.

FSU dominated us.
Go look at the box score again. It was a very even contest statistically and on the scoreboard. We only lost because of special teams implosion after implosion, to include 2 muffed punts, a blocked chipshot FG, and a blocked PAT, in a game we lost by 1 point.

It's likely the least talented team in the West, it's coached by Mike Leach and they've already lost to LSU.

So, let's go over the other teams then.

vs Alabama - unlikely.

vs Arkansas - I think Arkansas matches up well against the air raid, and Arkansas is more likely to get it's 3rd win in a row over Miss St.

vs Auburn - I think they can beat Auburn.

vs LSU - Already lost.

vs Ole Miss - I think Ole Miss is more talented, and better coached. I think most likely is Ole Miss and Kiffin get their 3rd win in a row.

vs Texas A&M - Big talent gap, but Leach already has history against them with Tech. Doesn't seem like Jimbo is the better coach, but the talent gap is pretty big. It's be great to see Miss St pull off the upset this weekend, and it's likely their best chance to do so. But I still think Miss St is the underdog.

Even if we give them the win vs A&M here, thats 2-4 SEC record. A&M has the win over Arkansas already, likely wins vs Auburn.

So maybe it comes down to the east as a tie breaker, you have A&M vs Florida and South Carolina, and Miss St vs Kentucky and Georgia. Well, I think that's 2 losses for Miss St, and probably 1 loss at worse for A&M.

That's still 2nd to last in the SEC west.

And that's why not a single LSU fan has named a team. You can't.

All that sounds logical, but State will still win 3 or 4 SEC games. Their Defense is good, their Offense forces you to play hard and disciplined every play. Home games for them are a big advantage with the cowbells. They will mess up at least one of the bigger teams. Glad it won't be us.

Not this year. As I mentioned above, they have the SEC West, and then they have Georgia and Kentucky for their East opponents. It's a really difficult schedule.

I stopped reading here because this makes absolutely no sense.

Arkansas is a terrible matchup for an air raid offense, their secondary is struggling and they're missing a ton of tackles.

An air raid offense is going to stress them to the max.

I'm aware of that passing yards Arkansas has given up.

Air raid offenses are not like the others.
