Those days are long gone. Just like 1980. Mullen is no where near the coach that Spurrier and Meyer were.

For my team (Ole Miss), it's beating Arkansas early in the season. The result of that game will set the tone for really both teams moving forward this season. I only expect about 4 wins this year though honestly.

Nope. I watched Florida's impressive but very brief run of success. There's been a whole lot of football played outside of those twenty years. Gator fans have a hard time grasping that very real fact.

Our 2nd game Against West Virginia... first home game with the new upgrade, P5 opponent, Kelly Bryant's first game at home, big expectations... We lose and some people jump of the train before the ride even begins.

Then you just might be the only UGA fan on this site that actually saw Georgia win a national championship.

Nope. I saw it. I was 12 years old in 1980.

LSU fan starts a nice little thread. Florida and Georgia fans get into pissing match. Rinse, repeat.

As it should be. It means both teams are pretty legit.

I think so also, but some people are doubtful... In an ideal world we would demolish them and turn some heads.

Brief run of success? 12 SECCG tied for most with Bama. 7 SECCG wins. 3 NC's. UGA has 7 SECCG and 4 wins. And 1980. Not too bad UGA, but pretty much less than half in every category, with Florida.

Because of Mullen and the Florida fan base this year it's Florida....Every other year it's Auburn.

If you were told you could only win one of the Florida or A&M games, which would it be? The other would be a loss.

Without a doubt Florida. Beating Florida is a damn fine accomplishment because of the history and pedigree that is displayed continuously at Florida. I mean it wasn’t that long ago that Florida was yearly a top 5 team

Why is Georgia a must win for Mizzou?

If UGA loses to GT, for any reason, it will have already hit the fan multiple times in the preceding 11 games.

In the grand scheme, 20 years is brief. I added impressive. But it's brief.
Georgia has 13 SEC titles to Florida's 8. 13 is more than 8. Georgia has 2 national championships to Florida's 3. That's a difference of one. Again, we must remind Florida fans that most of the country played football prior to 1990.

If LSU can beat that incredibly historic program filled with the best talent LSU will face all year, then 12-0 should be a cakewalk.

Would be nice to beat Florida again at home, but I think the next two weeks are more important, @MSU and @USC. Need to win both of those.
