I actually believe Calzada was tearing up as he walked off the field last week. The kid knows he's in a hopeless situation.

He's definitely not up to the task (thanks, Georgia), and he's the most visible problem, but he is FAR from the only issue.

That being said, how does Jimbo get him mentally ready for this?

Those first 12-13 tries were clearly crap, but I feel really good about the OL line-ups we're gonna try this week.

We probably won't run that many offensive plays this week anyway.

Put on this #2 jersey and we'll see how long it takes Saban to notice it's you.

Sorry about that trash talk over the summer.

Tells him to say his prayers that he doesn't get hurt. Thats about the only achievable goal this weekend

Pray a lot. Make sure your insurance is up to date. Make out a will. Enter the transfer portal.

Just show him video of Bo Nix running for his life and say "See kid... ANYBODY can be the next Manziel!"

Didn't Jimbo poach Kirby's best recruiter just for these prospects from GA because he couldn't make inroads down here?

Well, there ya go. You wanted him, you got him.

I'm not convinced Calzada is the biggest issue. I think it's the OL.

You never know man, lots of things can go wrong when getting thrown unprepared into the situation. Everyone reacts differently to those situations and I mean, he was projected as a P5 starter and has good touch on the long ball. I can see Calzada getting his footing going into a game where they're a huge underdog and he can finally relax because he feels like he's got nothing to lose. JK, Bama by 37.

I think the biggest issue is the fact that Jimbo’s apparent starter in the year tamu should be competing for a title was a true freshman.

A close second is the fact that King and Calzada were supposedly in a tight race.

King is a redshirt freshman, not true freshman

The competition wasn’t that close in reality. It was coach speak to not make Calzada look bad in the press conferences.

And watching King vs Calzada in games, the big difference is the moment is too big for Calzada. He’s a lot better when he has a green jersey on in practice. Throw live bullets and he just doesn’t have what it takes to be a playmaker

Idk what Jimbo will tell him but I know what Bama’s defense will tell him.
