He’s the best coach your program has ever seen. Not too long ago, many thought he was the 2nd best coach in the league; some will say he still is. What’s interesting is I’ve seen/heard many say that Moorhead is an upgrade. Does the majority believe this?

I like this narrative that he sucks now and will fail at Florida. I guess Mississippi State made him.

He was a great coach and we thank him for his contribution to our program, that said there were some issues behind the scene as there always are with coaches, some of them are now surfacing at Florida. We wish him the best but have chosen to move in a different direction.

Hail Fitz!

Hail Moorhead!

and Hail State!

No, that goes to Allyn McKeen, but he probably gets placed above JWS at 2nd.

not too long ago, he might have been, but Kirby is better, Jimbo is better, and Malzahn may be better.

we hope he’s better. He’s shown to be a better recruiter, but most know that we’ll have to see him coach a game first.

What is Mullens best win? A LSU team that lost to Troy? An Auburn team that went 7-5?

What was his most memorable moments? Probably the 2016 South Alabama Loss.

He finished in the Top 3 of the West once.

And he consistently had among the worst recruiting classes in the SEC like he has at Florida rn.

Mullen had the benefit of an athletic department with money and competency for the first time in Mississippi States history. And all he did was make bowl games. He never made Mississippi State a legitimate SEC Contender.

Compare that to the coaches we've had over the years like Darrell Royal, Emory Bellard, Jackie Sherrill, and Allyn Mckeen, I just don't see him as the best ever at Mississippi State.

Moorhead is an upgrade because his commitment list rn is better than any commitment list Mullen had.

I am thinking he is Bret Bielema running the spread offense

Mullen was never outstanding. He's in an era where it's next to impossible to NOT get to a bowl.

With that said he's at a school with about a 900k recruiting budget. Peanuts compared to some schools. It's debatable but ms state might be the 13th in a ranking of football jobs in the sec.

He knew he had to get out of that wasteland.

USC was number 1 in 2012. What good did that do them?

Nothing different than I thought when he was our coach. That he’s an excellent developer of talent. But I think he’ll soon realize that he didn’t know how good he had it. Especially with tonight’s news regarding some UF players.

Mullen went 33-39 in conference play at MSU while Sherrill went 43-59-1. Mullen was a better coach for MSU...barely.

His last 3 seasons he won 3 conference games.

24 conference games. Just 3 wins.

Not to mention he cheated his arse off and slammed us with probation and a mess to begin the Croom era.
