I learned that it's the first week of the season. Not a single team in the SEC -- at least not one that played a team with a pulse -- looked great. Very few team in any conference looked great playing teams with a pulse. All the strutting and trolling and fingerpointing in the world won't change that fact that your (whoever is reading this, not the OP) team looked just as flawed and rusty as every other team. That goes for Florida, that goes for USC, Bama, LSU, TAMU, Ole Miss, Vandy...and the rest of you, but y'all don't count because either you played a meaningless opponent or you lost to fricking Clemson. Not a single fanbase here can afford to be smug after this first weekend.

Actually, even in a loss, UGA sometimes looked better than many of the teams that won

LSU's offense has consistent balance
Manziel is a douche
Miss State and Florida look aweful on offense
Kentucky should drop their football program
Vandy's Matthews is a beast
Clowney is out of shape, but still a badass
Ole Miss is very young, but very talented
Georgia played well, just not well enough to win at Clemson
Bama looked solid on D

Didn't get to watch many of the games because I was in atl, but from what I can tell

-mett seems to have turned a corner in a positive way. Glad we have until November to get our crap together before we play him.
-cam Cameron is the truth
-bamas special teams may actually be special this year, and not in the short bus special way that we typically have been at the beginning of a season
-the starting oline we saw today sucks arse, but i think we will do some shuffling of players until we find a combination that gels. We were doing a lot of shuffling during fall camp. Now we know why.
-I am more optimistic about our defense this year than I was before tonight. We still have some ways to go with the secondary, but overall I was impressed. Also I have been a Vinnie doubter, but he looks like he made some improvements tonight in pass coverage. Very excited about his pick six.

Tl;dr

MSU has a competent D

Scored 3 points against a Big 12 defense. Oklahoma State allowed over 28 points per game last year.

1)Uk's Stoops is the best recruiter in the SEC

2) UGA will have the best offense in the SEC, but Grantham still sucks and will get limited production from all of that talent.

3)LSU's defense reloaded.

4) Met will be solid, but not amazing.

4) Bama's O-line is going to take some time to gel.

5) Auburn and Arky will be better.

6) Who knows about Mizzou. Great second half, horrible first...really bad opponent.

7)A&M is going to score a ton of points, D is a question mark though.

8) Ole Miss's O is dangerous, and they have a lot of talented freshmen.

9) Vandy still can't stop the read option, but Matthews is a beast.

10) TN is probably better, but no way to tell against that competition.

11) UF this year looks like UF last year.

12) USC is a lot more than Clowney, ESPN be damned.

13) State had the worst matchup and played well. Good D, O needs a ton of work.

I'll grant you that. Still a horrible opponent. I don't think we learned much either way.

JFF is the biggest douche I've ever seen on a football field. as soon as he entered the game and the while offense ran on the field and he walked on like he was jesus, thats all i needed to see.

We learned that it takes Mizzou's defensive brain trust a quarter to figure out how to stop Ole Miss's ex 3rd string QB. And that Mizzou's offense figures to be better this year--healthier O-Line and QB, and better Coordinator.

Beamer Ball is dead. Hopefully we'll never have to hear that term again. Thank you bama

>400 yards in offense is awful?

Muschamp doesn't go for any style points.

To me, we are improved from last year. I still have concerns about Driskel, but he looked better. With Matt Jones healthy, we have a nasty running game. We shall see what happens against the thugs.
