He dragged us on knowing he was leaving. We didn't get to have coaching search.

I mean did you want him to quit mid season and not coach the team? Don’t you think that would’ve been a negative for OM this past month? Do you think y’all will be better with him coaching the playoffs or not?

Now it’s all a rage fest shite show. I wish Golding the best except against us and I think he will do better than most think but it will be interesting what happens to the staff and players after this.

Nope. Just like ole Miss isn’t a guaranteed playoff team yet.

100% true, the only way ole miss fans wouldn’t be calling Kiffin a traitorous dog would be if he stayed, period

You might hate it more that he is taking staff now, but you were going to hate him no matter what

From an Ole Miss perspective, I’m sure they would’ve preferred not to be strung along like there was a chance he was staying when he was clearly planning the move, thus trapping them into waiting out the fake final decision while the coaching carousel turned with the Rebels looking on.

I agree, Lane was always going to take the LSU job. But it was Ole Miss that caused the decision to be drawn out so long by blackmailing Lane with the whole “either sign the extension or you can’t coach the team in the postseason” threat. That’s what made it so hard for Lane to officially take the LSU job right away.

Ole Miss played themselves. They could have had Lane continue to lead the team for the rest of the season all the while getting a head start in the search for a new coach.

I agree 100%. I’m sure deep down the LSU admin much prefers him not coaching at OM for a playoff run so he can hit the ground running in Red Stick. I’d guess they said they’d allow it because LK wanted to and they didn’t want to sour the deal in any way.

In a typical mindset for his personality, he thought he could charm and manipulate the situation to get everything he wanted out of it. He couldn’t. He delayed making his decision known to the admin thinking he could coerce them into him coaching the playoff. He miscalculated.

It may have gone down like this. I have no clue. If that is your claim, when did the OM AD make this ultimatum? Was it several weeks ago when the extension was first mentioned?

That choice didn’t change for 5 weeks. Lane knew the stakes and thought he could ignore them. The problem was with Lane. Accept the LSU offer and move on.

Yes, it is a well known fact that is how it went down. The Ole Miss AD was using that as leverage to try and keep Kiffin

“Lane using Florida and Ole Miss offers and doing a ‘maybe I’ll stay’ routine as leverage is good faith and fair dealing. Ole Miss using a playoff run as leverage is blackmail.”

It was clear he wanted to take the LSU job. It was clear he wanted to coach OM in the playoffs and was petitioning hard to be able to do that. Everything else is just internet rumors at this point.

It's clear he was trying to leverage the staff leaving as a way to get to stay. A decent man would've just left and not try to gut them completely.

So I’m assuming you feel just as bad for what Florida and Arkansas did as well then?
