why would he do that as he obviously wanted the job
you’re basically saying you wanted him to not take a career advancement, which is childish and stupid

When did you want him to decide? It’s clear to everyone paying attention that he told OM AD yesterday that he was leaving.

They wanted him to quit early so they could…. shite all over him
Oh wait…. I mean stay at their shitty school and turn down the best job offer he has had since USC.
“I can’t believe he wanted to coach during the playoffs”
I can’t believe you have a guy that wants to finish the season (the best in school history) and you shite on him for his loyalty. Would I be pissed and disappointed if this happened to my team….yes. Would I want my AD to try to and burn the team to the ground just to keep him from coaching the postseason… no.
Also, why is nobody talking about Jimmy Sexton being part of the problem?
Dude wants to win a NC.

Am I supposed to be happy our coach is leaving during a playoff run and causing a distraction for the last 5 weeks of the year?
If so, why?
And you also conveniently avoided addressing him threatening our staff’s livelihoods on the way out.

Oh, if Lane conducted himself better through all of this, that may of happened.
Instead, he was coy, will he, wouldn’t he, and a bunch of other bullshite.
Can’t blame Ole’Miss at all for having the self-respect to tell him to get the frick out.

I have no problem with LK taking the LSU job if he feels it is a better professional move for him, but either stay or bow out gracefully when the admin said they didn’t want him to stick around if he was leaving. That’s all he had to do.
From an Ole Miss perspective, I’m sure they would’ve preferred not to be strung along like there was a chance he was staying when he was clearly planning the move, thus trapping them into waiting out the fake final decision while the coaching carousel turned with the Rebels looking on.

No, you’re not supposed to be happy. This thread is more aimed at those OM posters saying “I don’t care that he left, I just am pissed at how he did it.” It’s normal to be pissed that your HC got poached.
If he had announced his decision before the Egg Bowl and OM lost could you imagine the fallout?

You are unhappy because he is leaving you for LSU. There is nothing he could’ve done that involves him ending up at LSU that ole miss fans would be satisfied with. Thats understandable
But the correct answer to the OPs questions is “stay at ole miss”. That’s it

OM knew yesterday (most likely Friday night) that he was taking the LSU job. Conversations last night and this morning surrounded his request to coach the CFP. Surely OM contacted Golesh and Sumrall. OM just isn’t as attractive of a job as Auburn and UF.

Meh, it's the same thing.
Admit it, if this was Ole Miss fricking LSU over, you would be laughing your arse off.

As long as we’re in agreement that Lane is fricking Ole Miss over, we’re fine. Y’all are attempting to say that it’s not that bad and Ole Miss should be okay with it, while also doing the normal laughing and trolling. For the record: LSU had a job opening and filled it. I don’t blame LSU. Yall just hired a snake.

Honestly, how long do you think Kiffin has known? I’m not claiming to know the answer, but it’s horseshite to say he thought it over and prayed Friday night to decide. There’s probably not a right way to handle a move like this, as no matter what there will be negatives for your image and how it comes across.

That’s simply not true. Take the staff AFTER THE PLAYOFF. He threatened them, saying they don’t have a spot on his staff if they don’t leave TODAY. That’s two different things.
