FWIW I meant that in more of a "if it's unsafe for the game to be held here, then do what's best for safety" way. It obviously sucks if we don't get the game at home.

CNB, why wouldn't carolina fans want to move it to Baton Rouge? -The season is already in shambles for you guys -Spurrier will retire -Youll get the home game in 2020 with your new coach and an almost guaranteed better start to your season. I would rather get that home game in 2020 than a wasted Saturday in Charlotte

LSU will not give up a future home game (and play on 3 that year) in exchange for a spur of the moment home game--for one thing, too much money would be lost (they wouldn't make nearly the same amount hosting USC this Saturday as they would for a regularly scheduled home game).

Seems to me that if they can't play at Columbia, or somewhere nearby, they should just cancel.

And obviously LSU fans care where the game is played. This thread was started by an LSU fan and has gone on for 20+ pages with LSU fans arogantly proclaiming knowledge and insight into a situation they are ignorant on.

And you seem to be particularly butthurt about them doing so.

If what I've seen on the Weather channel and CNN is even close to what it's actually like, they really have no business trying to play a football game less than a week after the flooding. Those resources that would be used both in getting everything ready for the game and for the game itself are needed much more elsewhere, I'd imagine.

I got you bro. It wasn't meant as an attack in any way. Of course we all want the game here. Other things take precedent over football though.

Obviously. But the floods and fans aren't going to impact the safety of holding the game. The water supply is the only thing that would make it unsafe and that's why I've been saying the thing to watch is the Columbia canal getting fixed.

So LSU fans have never been in a situation where a game has been moved or rescheduled, not because of inclimate weather, but because of the logistics of hosting a football game in an area declared a disaster zone?

That's odd, I thought that happened three times in 2005 and once in 2009, just off the top of my head.

Both teams have bye weeks on Nov 1. It won't get cancelled. If it can't be played in Columbia, my best guess is it defaults to November 1st.

Actually, I don't know how to read dates very well. None of what I just said is true.

Continue..

SC AD said yesterday that the game wouldn't be.

he's going to act in USC's best interest. I don't blame him one bit. but if anyone thinks a game is going to be played in williams brice stadium saturday while all of this shite is going on, i don't know what to tell them.

Yea because you idiots are watching the weather channel and cnn and think you know better than I do the impact and areas of devastation.

You don't. I'm sure those channels are making it seem like all of the greater Cola area is still underwater when in fact there were only small and isolated areas of catastrophic flooding

That's not the issue for the game. I think the water will be totally fine by Saturday. Issue is disaster relief efforts and having personnel to patrol the game. In the grand scheme of things they won't take officers off duty helping with this to monitor a bunch of drunks at a football game (as a LSU fan put it earlier).

Judging by this thread we sure seemed to know more than the Carolina fans... Look, unfortunately we have expereince with these things. That is why we started this thread well in advance. For whatever reason, Carolina fans took offense to that and said we had no idea what the hell we were talking about. Well....... apparantly we do

I think you're reading "in 2005, this was our situation leading up to game day, and here is what happened then. So it is likely the LSU-USC game will (blank)" as "well we had a natural disaster and it screwed up our schedule so we don't want to hear any bitching from USC fans..."

no matter. Continue posting like a prick.

Canceling a game with a player in the Heisman race isn't going to happen.

they don't even know what the conditions of the roads are with water on them right now. nikki haley said her helo tour from above was "disturbing". I watched the press conference. this game happening in williams brice has a 0.0% chance

If you really think you've got a better grasp of the situation by watching the weather channel than the AD who is talking to SC officials, then I don't know what to tell you
