I don't care how you paint this move, it is an a-hole move! I never talk bad about that head coach but, this is a dick move before the championship game. Hey, Kiffin, don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out!
I know he wins championships but, how anyone wants to coach for that arse is beyond my understanding!

Huge mistake by Saban. Kiffin is a great coach and they were a great team together.

Kiffin is the head coach at a different university now and needs to be fully engaged in recruiting and setting up his program
Saban understands this need and agreed with Kiffin to part ways so Kiffin can honor his head coach duties
