I think it's objectively true that Arkansas is the 5th best job in the West. That further illustrates the ever growing gap between the SEC and all other conferences.

I actually like the hire

Bielema was hamstrung at Wisky. He always had a high degree of staff turnover due to the low pay they offered.
Arkansas will be his opportunity to really build a program.
I think Wisconsin didn't know what they had.
I expect him to do better here as far as building a team. Competition is also tougher of course.

Damn, that's very disheartening.

I think Arkansas has made an excellent hire. While my exposure to Wisconsin football is somewhat limited..mostly bowls or if there isn't an SEC game on...I've been pretty impressed with Bielema's teams. Hard nosed, physical football like what we play here in the SEC. Barry Alvarez basically resuscitated a dead program and made Wisconsin competitive with Michigan and Ohio State then turned it over to Bielema who has kept the momentum going. Not all that easy to do.

Thanks OP for the article - because it says as much, or more, about the league itself than it does just Arkansas and the hire.
It's a strong affirmation of the entire SEC in as few words as possible.

Isn't it ironic how Arky fans constantly made fun of Miles' Big Ten offensive philosophy, and now they've gone and hired a Big Ten head coach?
