due to asinine admittance policies

So given Texas is only admitting a pittance of all those who apply - and given you call that asinine - what would you propose that would be a solution?

1) UT-Austin buys out the entire downtown area and adds on to accept 250,000 students?

2) UT-Austin only accepts white kids born in Texas?

What solution would be smart and not asinine as you say?

You must not like facts. Look at your enrollment statistics and the correlation between Texas residents going to Ark directly when the state of Texas dropped its auto admit to 4%.

Do you seriously want to debate the merits it takes to be accepted to Texas vs Ark lol? Its not arrogance its facts

This isn't even a question, students are being admitted at a larger scale and with less credentials to Ark than Texas,

There's nothing wrong with Ark you just are overall not as difficult to be accepted as a student out of high school than Texas is. Part of it is also there are many more students coming from Texas high schools than Ark.

The other thing that gets glossed over is that if you want to go to UT-Austin, AND if you have the ability - then you can get in. They have programs for that. Personally, I was denied before I was accepted. You have to WANT it. You have to BUST that arse.

I studied for 6 mos to retake the SAT, took 15 hours of designated coursework at community college, got a 4.0, and then got in.

But kids today just want immediate gratification, they don't want to have to work for anything. Earning something the hard way is not even a cultural value any longer.

You called me ignorant then arrogant.

Your ignorance is clearly showing. Enjoy the massive amounts of students who only attend your university because they couldn't get into a Texas state school.

He doesn’t care, it’s just a football helmet to him. This is the SEC, remember.

Dude, look back through this thread and show me where I said either of these things about you. But at this point that seems to be an accurate description.

Campus is beautiful. Arky baseball fans are cool. The box desperately needs to get rid of the cheap bleacher seats.

I give my Arkansas fans on here hell, but I live in NWA and attend games at Baum several times a year (family is all Ark fans). Baum is undoubtedly a better venue than The Box. Not a bad seat in the house, all chairback, no bleachers unless you end up in the Hog Pen. No need for seats there as everyone is standing and drinking out of a cooler...yes you can bring your own ice chest into the pen. That couldn't happen at The Box. And as far as fans, they are super nice and welcoming. Ark is a great program in baseball, ran the right way by Van Horn. Much respect. Honestly, if LSU can't win it this year, it's time for the Hogs to join the club.

Texas or ATM because they changed automatic admission to state schools to top 4%

The top 25% at top tier high schools are better students than the top 4% at any inner city ghetto school. Congrats on your retarded and woke admissions policies. Definitely benefits schools like Arkansas and ole miss.

It’s also insanely easy to get into UT from JUCO schools. I know a ton of idiots from Austin who got into UT that way and easily graduated.

I agree with you. Its a stupid policy and harms students who are very prepared and have the unfortunate situation where they are surrounded by intelligent and very capable incoming freshman.

Also it a not easy to get into Texas from a juco, from a feeder school it is but not a juco, Texas takes less than 1% of non Texas school applicants.

Also Ole Miss your qualifications for admittance is in the bottom half to quarter of the SEC so if you want to compare schools its not even close.

You dang right LSU is fricked. Both the Friday and Saturday starters for Arkansas is going to open up a can of whoop arse on our entire lineup. Arkansas easily takes at least 2/3

This simply isn’t true. I live in Colin County north of Dallas and every other kid here goes to Arkansas or OU. I have many friends who have kids that go there and they all applied to A&M and UT and didn’t get in.

OU and Arkansas are pretty much automatic admission so they all apply there as a backup plan and those schools give a lot of money to Texas kids.

Also schools like Tech and Texas State have grown because of UT and A&M as well.

In recent years UT and A&M have both tightened enrollment. They are both top 25 schools and it’s damn hard to get in. And even if you get in, it’s even harder to get engineering at A&M or business school at UT.

ManBearSharkReb has the answer to your question here. It’s asinine that a straight A student that happens to be surrounded by other students who would be on the honor roll at any other school (and also happens to be white, FWIW) is not deemed worthy of being admitted to Texas. And yes I know there is the JuCo route or the UT system route, but the best and brightest kids in the state aren’t going to go to Austin Community College for 2 years. So if I were in the same position I’d say f-off as well and go to OU/Arky. So to reiterate, yes I think it’s asinine that a kid like this can’t even get into the flagship state school. We’re doing something wrong.

You're sitting there arguing how high and mighty Texas University's academics are, and yet you can't even begin to structure a coherent writing structure in your post.
