SEC reality check
That's what is so funny about this. They thought they were just going to trot on in and it was going to be same same. Guess what? These fricks probably will lose to Auburn.

Yeah, Texas got lucky with their year 1 schedule. OU will fall this year but it will be another year or two before Texas feels the full brunt of an actual SEC schedule
Texas has had a top 10/top 15 national schedule every year since 2015. Only 3 seasons since 2000 have they not played a top 25 SOS.
I think they will be alright. It’s the .500 type SEC programs they always fixate on the schedule talk

Wow, you OU fans are in for a rude awakening. This is the SEC.
This is coming from a Mizzery fan who's team went to OT with Vandy right?

Now imagine playing games like this most Saturdays.
The days of feasting on cupcakes until the last game of the regular season are long gone.
You left out the part where you say something incredibly arrogant then accuse texas fans of being arrogant
I love the rant. Irony is funny.

That would make sense except for one thing.
Texas.

My only problem with OU ?
You need to mow the grass that field was too tall for SEC play.
But was a great game fans showed up made some noise just like a SEC should be.
Great defense offense will get better
No team is perfect
Good luck with the season
Field has been a problem this year for whatever reason. Have a new grounds crew blah blah... Last week it looks like it was dying....
As to the game.... I haven't see that inept of an offense since John Blake. Defense played a great game and we would of had a chance if we had any type of offense. I think Josh let off the gas in the second, I think we were getting to Nico and he was trying to protect a young QB on the road. Plus I think Josh knew our offense couldn't move the ball at all. So, run the ball and get out of town. I also think Josh was doing us a solid lol. It's obvious he still has love for his school. Pissed at Bob still, but he is a Sooner for life. Love that guy, and was cool to see him after the game with this team getting emotional with his team etc. although it was at our expense.
Vol fans around town were fun to hang with and look forward to next year in Knoxville.
Now please football gods, can we have some olinemen??

That said, your DLine is elite.
You can chest pound and dog us OU fans as long as you want..
As long as you keep repeating this over and over.
After having a decade or more of D lines that looked like a roller derby team skating backwards... it is nice to hear.
If fact, you should make an endless loop of this, put it on Spotify and market it to OU fans.
You'd be rich within a week.

Let’s not pretend like this offense is remotely close to what we have been used to.
No doubt Tennessee has a great defense but OU’s offense has been terrible all year. This is an unfortunate anomaly.

I think Josh let off the gas
He did that for one reason only - because our defense was getting to the QB and forcing turnovers. It was the right situational move.

Agreed, this was no "SEC reality check" like they claim it is.
Temple slowed us down some, Tulane slowed us done more, and friggin' Houston basically shut our offense down.
While Tennessee played with our offense like a cat plays with a mouse...
Any OU offense from 2015 through 2023 would have moved the ball on them enough to make this a competitive game given the OU defense was solid.
We probably lose 38-31 or something like that with even last year's offense and this defense.

I agree. But he had that luxury because of how inept we were. We dominated them in the second half, we would of given up more if they kept tossing the ball. Course we could of caused more TOs too. OU dominated that night defnesively and Josh's play calling helped with that. Both can be true.
There were a couple times they were in 3rd and long and they threw a bubble screen for a gain of 2 yards. And I told the Tenner fan next to us, "That's why we fired him".

OU played pretty well especially second half that back up qb will make a difference. I was impressed personally. Thought Tennessee was going to throttle them but I thought the same against other sec teams. Tennessee did not impress me as much as I thought.

You are going to be scratching you head about offense for some time… at some point you come to the realization that your offense always sucked, it just looked amazing because you weren’t playing teams that had a defensive.
Dumbest comment in this thread.
If you had paid any attention you would know that OU’s offense has struggled all year against weak competition. This is in no way a normal OU offense.

Oklahoma first SEC opponent: Tennessee
Texas first SEC opponent: Miss State with injured QB

I agree that that statement was ridiculous. Tennessee plays both Georgia and Bama.

Next week you will say:
Texas second SEC opponent: UGA who got steamrolled by Bama.
Just line 'em up. We'll knock 'em down. Make your excuses.

Is this schedule one year thing or a two year thing? Internet gives conflicting information.
I kind of hope we get it a bit easier next year but also looking forward to going to USCe and Tennessee next year (driving distances for me).

Know what the difference between Tulane and Houston, and playing an SEC team was?
You lost.
Welcome to the SEC.
