LSU -
At kickoff most fans thought we had things solved. Then reality set in:
A team that seemed unmotivated.
Both lines getting pushed around.
A "seasoned" Qb that still looks inadequate.
A team that couldn't convert a 1.5 yd third down then couldn't do. 1yd fourth down.
A defense that fails again to make a stand to win a game in the last few minutes.
Yesterday looked like last year's November to me.

Mississippi State.
Let's just say BYU is looking forward to playing us in a few weeks.
I lived through Tech and Ten, the Troynado, I remember the Maine and the Croom error is fresh in my memory. But the day we got South in our Mouth is the worst of them all.

If your O-Line really is as bad as we saw, I'd make sure your back QB and his backup are ready to play at the a&m game. They are going to be running for their lives.
All three of them were really good last season. I do not know what the frick was going on. I want to see what they look like against Virginia Tech.
That Aggie DL did look great yesterday

Eason looks like the real deal.
Defense looks good.
OL was pretty good on run block. Need improvements in pass block
Special teams is scary. Our kicker is Phil Niekro.
For all the shite we got for the Chaney hire, he coached a damn good game. Smart did excellent. We have a bright future.

^^This. I'd be far more worried if they were new but these are guys that were All-SEC and on several watchlists. They're not bad players but something was clearly off. Mostly it was our center Coleman Thomas.

We definitely have some minor issues and kinks to work out, but when we do, Lord help whoever steps on the field with our freaks.

We can't possibly be as good as we looked for most of the game last night. So pretty excited about the win and what this team might be, and after getting a little more game experience next week, we'll see where we stand in Oxford.
Not taking anything away from Alabama...but what I saw of the game told me USC is severely lacking in talent on the OL and QB.
My how that program has fallen off the mountain top. I am sure Lane enjoyed every moment of calling that game.

Sloppy but correctable
Dropped passes, slips and missed blocks cost us some points. Rain maybe??
Defense was solid. Needs to be more disciplined with the dumb penalties that extended drives.
With that said, we have a capable QB and a kicker!! Thank goodness

Les Miles continues being the best DC in the country.

-Nick Chubb is still a grown-arse man.
-OL has to improve pass blocking.
-Eason showed flashes. Defenses have to respect his arm and it opens up our offense.
-Wish we had used the TE's more.
-IMac looked great, Chigbu looked pretty good, the other WR's are still a question mark.
-Outside linebackers MUST get better. Couldn't get pressure and lost contain far too often.
-Front 3 were mediocre. David Marshall played pretty damn good, but everyone else was underwhelming.
-ILB's were athletic and played pretty well, overall.
-DB's played pretty damn well. Got lucky on a few deep balls that weren't thrown well, but Mo Smith will be big for us this year. Parrish is still one of my favorite players, he's small but plays with attitude.

Once again we lack the athletes in the secondary to be competitive in the SEC. Bert and co gotta step up the recruiting - you can build depth and use 5th year senior on the lines but in the secondary you need playmakers.
O-line was very disappointing. Hope they get it fixed quick otherwise Austin Allen is gonna get killed.
Thought Allen looked good for his first start. Both touchdown throws were absolutely clutch.

LSU is the worst coached team in the nation. The talent is there, the coaching is not. We will get our asses stomped by pretty much all of the SEC this year.
Oh and grats Bama on another NC. Nobody is beating you this year. I envy how well coached your team is. It must be nice.

Ignoring the early game shitfest:
Offense was a bit sloppy but got the job done. Hurts will be terrifyingly good once he gets over being a true freshman.
Defense lived up to previous years. All the lights out.
I think we'll be just fine.

You missed the first quarter then. They have a new starting qb who has a great internal clock and would have shredded most defenses. The reason we kept them in check is our DL doesn't need blitzes to get pressure.
Southern Cal has excellent talent starting but no depth at all because of the sanctions. They will finish ranked, I think. This game just started getting away from them and when our guys started playing with confidence (and getting most of the breaks) it turned into a rout. It's hard to dig out of a hole with our defense. But against the hurry up with an experienced QB, we may see a different scenario.
