How does ESPN not understand that if people are interested in that, they'll just change the fricking channel to it?

I don't get it.

So fans just can't get over the split screen for a few minutes as Aaron Judge is chasing history. Oh the humanity of it all.

To start, he's not chasing history, he's like 3rd place or some shite. It's ESPN selling you that he's chasing history at best.

And maybe if they didn't make the baseball part of the split screen the main broadcast during that time, it wouldn't be so bad. But it's not just a split screen, it's a change in the broadcast and what I was actually watch and what I tuned in to watch is on the split side with no sound.

Furthermore, the entire thing is recorded and even after they show it live will be all over the highlights etc. You aren't going to miss it if you have an even remote interest in it.

Oh the humanity of having to hit a button to change the channel to what interests you, can't deal - let's just frick up what everyone else is watching.

As you’re a fan of a program that claims all sorts of fake natties, not sure why this bothers you so much

As a lifelong Yankee fan and no lover of ESPN, I don't need to be told anything about Aaron Judge. He now has the American League record with Roger Maris, period. Judge has made it clear enough that he believes Bond has the all-time record in MLB.

Unbelievable that folk's attention span is so delicate. I'm not the dude to feel compelled to defend ESPN, but I'm the dude that has cut off the audio many a time just to keep from having to listen to some of these sports broadcasters.

It's been 61 years since someone has done this in the American league. Getting a live peak, as it happens, isn't going to rob people of their way of life.

If baseball is on and I choose to watch football instead, don't force baseball on me goes for anything really, not just sports.

When games are in pivotal moments in the 4th quarter and a team is driving, that's not the moment to cut away from the goddamn game. If it's halftime then sure whatever. If after he finally does break the AL record they want to cut away to replay the HR like they sometimes do to give updates on other football games, that's fine too. We don't need to see the entirety of his at bat real time, if that's something you want to see then you can watch the Yankees game or flip over yourself.

At least he won't be playing this weekend

Not even. He’s 2 away to tie for 6th place. Sosa hit 63+ three times, McGuire twice, and Bonds once.

He’s not chasing anything that should warrant a live lookin every at bat during live broadcasts in other sports. If they want to show a highlight if he hits a home run, great.

He tied Maris record in 154 games but he'll need an asteric for 162 if he breaks it.

I looked it up when they were claiming most HR in the American League.

Good enough for 7th in the NL. Gets much less interesting at that point

The only fans that care about this are Yankee fans. So I don't care about it.
Its a Yankee record not an MLB record. ESPN pushing this stuff is annoying as hell.

Ever since espn started this switch to watch him bat stuff he has slumped. Pressure must be on. Judge seems like a good guy. Too bad he plays in NY.
