Malzahn seems to utilize the QB as a runner quite a bit in his offenses. It seems odd to have not just one, but several Au rb's on the list, when it's likely the QB will taking away opportunities for the RB's. It's not likely any Au RB will be in the top five. I would think the most likely teams to have top five RB's, would be Fla, Ga, Bama, Arky and SC. I think those are the most run heavy teams, utilizing RB's.

Malzahn almost always has at least 1 RB that puts up great numbers. There are more than 1 for AU on the list because it isn't clear who will be that guy. However, if there is a particular person you think should be removed from the list, just name that person and list the reasons they don't belong. I will consider removing people that don't belong.

Not sure I agree with SC on this list, but the others I agree are likely to have a RB put up good numbers.

I think Tre Mason is the only one who could be legitimately on the list, based on past production (1002 yds last season). He would seem to be the likely leader as starter. The next closer rusher returning had 153 yds.

Tre Mason is on the list.

If you think someone shouldn't be on the list, name that person and give a reason that person shouldn't be on the list. Is this an unreasonable request?

The rest of the Au rb's shouldn't be. I thought that was clear, and based on past production. There is no evidence, as of yet, that places them as starters, and none have rushed for over 160 yds in any season while at Au.

Do you think he has a chance to crack the TOP 5 SEC RBs? If so, explain why?

Was just stating a point. To answer your question, no he won't. Perhaps in future years though.

Add - Derrick Henry, will be in the same role as Yeldon was last year and have a lot of playing time to impress folks, imo.

I wasn't arguing with you. I'm willing to put him on there with a solid argument for doing so.

Ben Tate was top 5 SEC RB 2009
Mike Dyer top 5 SEC RB 2010 & 2011 IIRC

Hell Masoon was top 10 (8) in 2012 for crying out loud, what makes you think AU won't have at least one in 2013?

Question, if Auburn is terrible again, will you stop doing these rankings like last year?

If you will notice, I took a hiatus from the entire site before the season ever started and before it was known how terrible Auburn was. I was gone until after the season. As long as I am not banned, I will maintain these rankings. It is the appreciative fans like you that demand these rankings that keeps me putting in the hours of research to make this the preeminent SEC TOP 5 RB list.

So Bama fans think it is reasonable to believe D Henry gets enough touches to be a top 5 RB in the league next year?

I don't think he gets nearly as many as Yeldon got last year. He and Kenyon Drake will probably split the carries Yeldon doesn't get.

First draft should obviously be

Dyer
Dyer
Dyer
Mason
Gurley

HM: Yeldon.
