I see another 2011 type Defenses for both teams this year.
Alabama's secondary, outside of Landon Collins, is a complete toss-up. Eddie Jackson has a torn ACL, Cyrus Jones is terrible, Geno Smith can't stay out of the doghouse, and the rest are unproven and inexperienced... Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey are being called upon for massive playing time by Alabama fans.

Agreed.
I don't think we'll see 2011 Alabama and 2011 LSU types units for some time. They were "generational" defenses. The two best in conference history since the 1992 Alabama unit.

LSU lost Kelvin Sheppard, Patrick Peterson, and Drake Nevis prior to the 2011 season. If you go back to the preseason, there were plenty of people wondering how LSU was going to replace those 3 guys. No one expected LSU to make a run like they did in 2011. Barkevious Mingo was a relative unknown at that point. Sam Montgomery was coming off a torn ACL. The linebacker situation was a complete unknown. Not that I expect LSU's defense in 2014 to be anything like the 2011 defense, but let's not act like LSU's 2011 defense was without huge question marks entering the season.

You don't have a clue. I knew going into 2011 Bama would have a great Defense after a disappointing 2010 Defense. This Defense looks much better than that one. It's about "chemistry". LSU's 2010 Defense wasn't exactly great coming off the 2010 season either, giving up 33 PPG in their last 3 games. With teams like Bama & LSU it's about "chemistry", the talent is there, and the chemistry this year is right for both of them.

All these question marks which allowed LSU to start the season ranked #4

Because LSU envies us, in all things.
Which part. Being the little brother who has been a shite show this decade? Or losing 77-0 in a REGULAR season game

LSU entered 2008 ranked #7. What's your point?

You don't have a clue.
I see you didn't dispute anything I said about the secondary, though, because you can't. In 2011, Alabama had Dre Kirkpatrick, Dee Milliner, Mark Barron, Robert Lester, and DeQuan Menzie in the secondary. They can't touch the combined talent and experience in 2011 with this 2014 squad, they just can't.

Bama's front 7 is going to be great, the secondary is the question and by that I mean corner back. Stacked at RB and WR. OL should be better but still not dominate. QB is a concern.
A lot of people will be upset when State whoops that arse this year. They had more freshman playing last year than Ole miss; who everyone thought was the youngest sec team but it was really MSU.

If they develop, the secondary of 2015 and 2016 can be just as good.

Maybe so, but not the 2014 squad.

We will win 10 regular season games and have the talent to win them all. But talent alone will not win games. Plus we won't have a QB who points fingers after losses. Sorry fellow Bama fans but that's bull shite.

Knows the " chemistry" of the Alabama defense 5+ months away from the season while still missing key ingredients.
A fricking football coaching god this guy.

I can't make a good prediction ahead of time.
Auburn, Alabama or LSU aren't any more likely to win the West than the other two. I think all three of them finish 1-2-3 in any order.
Then I can see any of Ole Miss, Mississippi State or Texas A&M for 4-5-6. If one of the top 3's replacement players just don't pan out then they could fall to 4 and the best team out of this group of 3 could get to 3rd.
Only one I'm certain about is Arkansas being last, I think they're a year away. But they're not going winless in the SEC and I don't have any reason to pick them to surprise one team over another.
The West is more stacked and balanced than it has been for a long time -- looks like it'll rival 2010 and surpass virtually any other set of Western teams in the history of the division.
