Was Lsu beating Florida their superbowl win of the season?

Seems like Lsu fans forgot about their mediocre season and the shoe incident that caused them to win against Florida made them think think their season was a success. So was this an accomplished season for Lsu?

LSU was dead in the water after Bama and had a skeleton team at best. Had to play A&M, Bama and Fla - all top ten teams back to back to back with two on the road. They had no business being on the field with Florida even without Pitts. I think it was more of a case of Fla overlooking them than anything else. Had it been played as scheduled LSU loses big.
The ending with Fla and Ole Miss at least showed the heart of the team and could end the season as best as possible.
