It was the way he did it. He led our coaches on to believe that we had a legitimate shot of landing him, then went on to say he had decided about 2 years before his announcement.
And it starts again.

Mark Barron also didn't play much outside of ST for his freshman year. Turned out well, I might say.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do by posting that picture.
Also, he shut off his twitter after what was said to him when he committed.

Heck no...I had a co-worker tell me prior to fall practice starting Landon Collins could start for an NFL team...
I take it your co-worker is a Gump. To them every player that ever signed with Alabama is the best that ever played at that postion and NFL ready. They only make a stop at the Capstone because of their deep love for the Tide.

Looks like I'm late for the weekly Landon-Collins-Didn't-Commit-to-LSU-and-I-Have-an-Inferiority-Complex-About-the-University-of-Alabama-Football thread.
What did I miss?

More LSU whining and crying about everything Alabama.

There is nothing, NOTHING, that some LSU fans cannot somehow pervert into an excuse to piss and moan. How old do you have to be to question an 18 year old's "loyalty" to anything? To LSU? To the state of Louisiana? If Kwon Alexander thinks LSU is the best option for him, more power to him, same with the DB from Prattville. Loyalty has ZERO to do with it.

I am not sure if LC was red-shirted at Bama or not, but I never saw him on the field. With his stature as the #1 DB in the nation out of HS, why didn't he play? Bama's DB's this year were good but not as good IMHO as in previous years.
LSU is playing freshmen if they are the best players available. Does Saban not? If he does play the best players, then Collins must be lacking. Agree or disagree?
You obviously didn't watch any Bama games then. He played Special Teams and mop up duty!

You must not follow SEC football that closely. He's gonna be a stud.

Collins' mom pulled him from school. Will transfer to BRCC

Kwon was definitely the top player in the state of Alabama before he was injured in high school. FWIW
No, He was not. This guy was.

That's who I was thinking of. I knew Winston was a 5* who considered staying home but chose FSU instead.

Dude, quit sipping on the Hater-Ade so much. When you look at Bama's success in CFB over the past few years these "Gumps" you're cracking on don't seem to be off by much...

You're asking why a freshmen didn't start for a National Championship squad. Lets just think about that.
That is a pretty simplistic response when you know very well that somehow Vinnie Sunseri is allowed to play for that National Championship squad.
I get that he's a gamer and all that, but Bama fans would be lying if they didn't at least tacitly admit that for everything he brings to the table in intangibles, he takes something off the table in terms of athleticism. Also, I don't know how fast he is, but he does not appear to be of the same caliber in terms of speed as the other members of that defense.

So because he did it, Collins should be able to? You are being too simplistic if you think that athletic ability was the only thing keeping him from being a starter. IMO it is unrealistic to ask most freshman to step in from day 1 and be a starter. Some can do it, but most need some time to adjust to the college game and learn the system.
Posted on 12/10/12 at 5:27 pm to therick711
Sunseri knows the defense from a year in the system. He is a very good tackler and excellent in run support. Lately, he has been off the field in nickel.
Collins has reportedly struggled learning the intracacies of the D. Not unusual.

So LSU can do it, but Bama can't? Come on. The point was acting like a freshman can't start for this Bama squad's defense is ridiculous when it already starts Sunseri, who isn't even in the same world as the other 10 guys who get to start on that squad. That being said, it is impressive that Bama only has to hide one guy on its defense. I think we all know that should the light come on for LC, he will displace Sunseri.

Sunseri didn't start a single game this year. The starters are HCD and Lester.

When LSU starts winning championships year after year like Alabama, that will be a fair comparison. Until then,
