Last season would not have been as successful without Chubb, Michel, Bellamy and Carter. All four of them staying for their senior season was huge, both in terms of production and in terms of leadership.
All four were Richt recruited players who played two years under Richt.
IMHO, if Richt was still HC at Georgia after an 8-5 2016, I don't believe that any of the four would have been at Georgia in 2017. So in that sense, some if not all of them were in fact Kirby players, who wouldn't have been on the roster if the predecessor was still there.

I don't want to make this into a discussion it's not, but in this generation, with this type of entitlement, every staff has to battle expectations and complacency. Assuming that Kirby will handle it just like Saban is highly assumptive. We'll see.
Saban has handled the coordinator changes because it's his defense AND his offense. Every coordinator Saban hires says the same thing, "it's not going to be much different because it's Coach Saban's offense". Saban's coordinators throw in wrinkles and whatnot but it's all a part of his offensive scheme and strategy.
We can agree to disagree about the complacency issue. Smart was with Saban for a long time. Kirby seems like the kind of coach who learns pretty quickly. You don't stay under saban that long if you dont.
I agree 100% about Saban and the coordinators. No other head coach has survived that type of turnover. I honestly don't know how well we would be right now without Sam Pittman.
For example...QBs and RBs want this OL. WRs want these QBs. Our recruiting is rolling right now. But the OL spot will not slow down despite the depth chart. So long as we can win in the trenches, everthing else will fall into line (pun intended).

Saban will always get the top picks. The rest of the SEC will get the leftovers including Kirb.
