No - we lost to Auburn. We were better than Oklahoma, but so were quite a few other teams.
I agree with that, I think... but what teams would you have taken over Bama? I’m not doubting you I’m just seriously interested in competent feedback and no-one will name a damn team. Obviously it’s just speculation as we’ll never know but I just don’t get why people can’t just say that “yes, outside of the big 3 teams myself nor Vegas would put any team as a favorite over Bama with money on the line”. It was a down year for Bama. We all know that. You are a respected poster on this forum. Seriously, outside of the top 3, who are you putting your money on against Bama, even with Mac and all the freshman backups?

Nobody ever actually names a team outside of LSU, Clemson, and tOSU that they would bet against Bama on.

I mean, we lost to Auburn, so Auburn I guess?
We would have given up 40+ to any of the Top 3 teams. There are a handful of teams that are all semi close behind the top 3.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, Penn St, Wisconsin

Yes, I said this a month ago.
But, Bama Fatigue and Mulligan U X2 Natties, has America tired of Saban's act.
PAC and Big 12 would scream bloody murder if Tide got to sit out yet another SECCG.

I’m glad LSU didn’t have to play Bama again... if it was the other way around I’m sure Bama would have been glad there was not a rematch with LSU... any given day when these two play.

Probably. Eye Test has to stop somewhere though, they lost 2 games. OU was the correct choice for going to the playoffs, even if not the absolute "right" decision regarding who was #4. Bama has the players to beat anyone any week, that doesn't mean they should be indefinitely included in playoff contention no matter how many games they lose.

What about UF or UGA? One had a better regular season record and one equal to you. Except they lost at LSU, where you lost at home.

Or Wisconsin. Or Penn St.
Big group of teams that are probably around the same.
