Bama's handling of the COVID year was exceptional. They deserved the championship they won in 2020. Part of that was how well they did at keeping their team healthy and not getting hurt by opt-outs.
But it's really hard to call that team among the all-time greats because many of the other contenders in 2020 struggled mightily with handling covid.
I'm not going to claim it doesn't count like some do. I think that's stupid. But it was a season unlike any other and is hard to compare to any other because of it.

I never stated any belief either way, like I said, not sure why you're suddenly trying to deflect to an economic discussion.

It doesn’t make the title any less valid, but I will say that the same things that made Alabama so good under Saban made them truly elite that year in comparison to everyone else. No team was as prepared and focused to handle the covid adversity. Zero opt outs, zero excuses. As long as the adversity is evenly applied to all teams, leaders like Saban are always going to use it as an advantage.

I didn't deflect from anything. I pointed out what the general public thinks isn't worth shite. People don't know how to think, they only know how to watch TV and be told what to think.
As far as sports goes, if the general public knew anything, Vegas would go broke.

2020 seems like such a long time ago. I wonder if any SEC teams have won a national championship since then.

UGA is one of only four teams in consideration for the best ever season in college football history.
Four teams have finished the year 15-0.
Clemson in 2018.
LSU in 2019.
UGA in 2022.
Michigan in 2023.
that's it. Those are the four in consideration for best football team ever.
Overall I'd probably give the nod to 2019 LSU and put 2022 UGA second. But opinions differ. No Bama team is in the discussion.

Yes, that is barely winning a ball game.
But it's funny because I remember LSU fans claiming a 5 point win was a dominating win, so maybe it's just that you all have low standards.
