How much additional money did/will the SEC network generate by including Texas sets within the "footprint"?
Calculate that and then you can find out just how much Texas A&M is worth to the SEC. My guess is that it's going to be a very large number, much larger than the 1/14th share they pull out.
They're really fun to mess with because they rank pretty high in the sensitivity charts after being beat around like a rag doll for the better part of the last decade, but they bring tons of money into the conference. If they brought nothing else (and they bring a whole lot of something else), they were a good add because of that.
As an LSU fan, they're good for a W every year and they occasionally beat bama. Sounds like a win-win for us.

labama was doing this before y'all were invited.
Y'all were getting the dumbest of the dumb. My high school graduating class of 07(950 people, 98% of which went to college) had one girl, and while she was a smoke show and used to bang McElroy, she was absolutely retarded and flunked out.

West Plano is filled with the daughters of top shelf trophy wives. Some of the best talent in the country is located in that area.

Or the bigger question:
How much more can we add to the SEC bottom line with merchandise sales, away game ticket sales, etc.

A better question would have been, since most of the positives for adding A&M are the same as if you added texas instead, which one would have been better for the conference? (note: texas gets to keep their channel)

The hype they get even with mediocre success is phenomenal and the fan base really believe that they are great! Needless to say, the other SEC teams look good by beating them. So, no, it's not a mistake!

While that might be the case, the main impact is in the SEC Network footprint and you can attribute the state of Texas directly with Texas A&M's addition to the conference.

I never said we didn't rank highly in the same charts, but you can't deny that your fan base is pretty thin skinned.

Sure. But a LSU fan making that comment is the definition of the pot calling the kettle black

Correct you are. There is simply no denying this.

No; some of that stuff is just plain weird & not awesome at all.
Everything else you said is true; adding A & M is a win for all involved.

That doesn't mean the kettle isn't fricking black though. As LSU fans we at least have the 2 recent national championships to kind of satiate our appetite for self-loathing. As an A&M fan you guys are running off of a decade of misery.

One day some court case or law might ruin the bundling of cable channels. In this sort of al a carte future the value of a conference channel is not how many non-sports fans you can force in your footprint to pay you for the channel they don't want, but instead how many fans will pay $___ a month for access to your content. Aggies will pay, and can pay.
I don't expect to see al a carte around the corner but the cable market isn't sustainable. One good thing for fans of expansion teams within the footprint is that suddenly a FSU, Clemson or even an OU would be worth more than a Va Tech or NC State if that court case hits.

And even with all of that success, your fanbase is just as ridiculous and insecure as ours and I will never understand that
