its better if it is true because that means sumlin is les miles bitch on and off the field.

Because he's had 2 jobs in 20 years and LSU would match any amount aTm offered
He only left Tennessee because he had to. He's not a bounce around type coach looking for the next best thing.

Chavis will call it quits when Miles probably does, they are only 2 years apart and Chavis wouldnt go to aTm for any amount of money to spend his last few years fixing that disaster and having a an offense that frustrates him all the time.

If this whole thing were actually true it would be hilarious
but I just don't buy it. sounds like msg board meltdown shite to me, can't see Chavis or Miles doing the "trick'em" kinda crap

I would imagine the 2% chance they ever had of getting Chavis centered on Les going to Michigan and then Chavis to A&M. So yea, what a waste of time by Sumlin.

agreed
but it's the narrative across multiple boards, which has 0 validity of course.

And the first one was his alma mater and the home of family. LSU isn't the same draw. IF someone makes a big money offer.... (which leads us to)

I'm not so sure about this. Chavis days away from being in the final year of his deal. That never happened at Tennessee, and to be honest, its very odd for it to happen to a Coordinator that isn't being pushed out. IF A&M dropped a $2 Million per offer to him, with years guaranteed through the end of what he perceives to be the end of his career, I don't see how he wouldn't take it seriously.

This is agreed. He's also not the type to leverage jobs for a raise. That combined with the LSU AD's game of contract roulette would have me worried if I was an LSU fan.

I think we've figured out by now that this is not the the case. You're trolling.

It's not odd at all. I DO think things have been in limbo for a bit because the Miles to Michigan possibility, but no one is pushing out Chavis. That's asinine. I don't know what to tell you if you actually think LSU is pushing out a DC who just had the #1 rated defense in the SEC.

Sometimes your stance on a troll just makes you look foolish.

This last time Chavis lost his job he had the #1 SEC Defense. It's silly to think he wouldn't be concerned about covering himself.

How exactly would I disagree with you w/o trolling? Or is that even possible?

Well he thinks you're trolling the board. Which you are attempting to do, which is fine.

No just recognize you from your post in this thread, which have all been "watch out LSU, Chavis is looking to bail"
do your thing bro and I'll do mine

OK...
Well, please provide me a list of acceptable opinions to post so that I won't be accused of being a troll. Thanks in advance.

Covering all of his bases is not the same thing as 'I'd be concerned if I were an LSU fan.' I'd hope, and assume, every head coach has a Plan B and C in case their current HC bolts or gets fired. Hell, you do this with any job. I know the first 2-3 people I'd call right now if I were fired.

I only assumed you were trolling because your stance holds so little weight. Essentially you're saying he's at the end of his contract, so therefore he could leave. But you're also saying LSU could be pushing him out, which is so outlandish to even think about that I thought you HAD to be trolling.

He was forced out by Kiffin for Kiffin's FATHER. 2 completely different scenarios.
The only way I could see Chavis leaving is if Miles leaves/retires. LSU isn't forcing anyone out, and Chavis isn't going to leave for a few extra bucks. And just because he's not the leveraging type, doesn't mean LSU wouldn't just restructure his contract for more money.

Having personally witnessed the glorious and thorough arse whipping that Major Applewhite gave Chavis, missing half his starting OL no less, this statement makes me

Absolutely wrong. In a recent interview, Mike Hamilton stated that they would not have hired Kiffin unless Monte was part of the deal.
