Not really awesome, just surprising. Btw, the national polls had nothing to do with the SEC West race.

Alabama should start putting Tulane on the schedule more often; only this way will they be able to visit Atlanta and New Orleans with any sort of frequency.

There will be more Alabama fans in the Georgia Dome on August 30 than Clemson fans.
And yes, last year sucked. We were 6-2 and a 4th down away from beating the eventual national champion. Not an excuse, but to lose the final four took away any progress that had been made in the come from behind win over Arkansas and domination over Tennessee.

You Bama and LSU fans may find this odd, but there is no way in Hell that VT fans or the Administration at VT would fire Beamer and hire Saban, even if he offered to coach for free. Beamer is a God around here (whether deservedly or not) and he ain't going anywhere. NOW WVU may be another story. Since Rich Rod left for Michicken, they moved up a relatively no name assistant. As far as Clemson, Bama may very well beat them. Clemson is always overrated, especially this class. VT has consistently beaten them for 10 years now without a loss, at VT and at Death Valley.

Somebody buy this boy a globe.....
That confused me.
Despite the slight error, the joke was geared towards Virginia Tech fans thinking they are God's gift to the ACC even though the only reason they are in the conference is due to political pressure from the Governor on UVA. Good one. Tech fans have jumped the shark.

Wrong Traitor from Norfolk. VT is the dominant team in the Commonwealth and quite frankly we ARE God's gift to ACC football. We have won the ACC football title 2 of the 4 years we have been members and have the best overall record of wins in the 4 years we have been members. So, although I would ordinarily never, ever say it, the fact IS that we are God's gift to ACC football.

Except when you're playing a bad Florida State team in the ACC Championship.

So why won't Bama play VT. Their schedule has (I think) games with Tulane at the start of the season. I suspect that Saban has realized that the folks in AL expect 10 wins each year and with all SEC games being a challenge, adding VT would not be like playing a cakewalk school. Anybody know what other SEC teams are being considered? We, VT, would love Tennessee.

Not to whiz on your parade, but why would the governor of VA care about who coaches WV?

Saban is a WV native, not VA. They are 2 separate states, ya know.

Maybe he thinks that West Virginia isn't a state. Perhaps he thinks that West Virginia University is just another school in western Virginia?
