I member hearing shite talked about Chaney from Vol fans back when we had him.
That said, I never thought he sucked, he's just good enough to leave you frustrated.

Offense did enough to beat Bama. Kirby choked it away. Dawg fans blame Chaney.
Defense looked like shite vs Texas, half the team had already quit on the season thanks to Kirby, blame Chaney for the loss.

I mean he finished 9th in the SEC in Passing yards, its that really that stellar? He is a good game manager and has some tools but he was never sniffing any post season qb awards, including the all SEC team.

The crazy part is actually that Vol knows exactly what they get in Jim Chaney and still chose to pay him $1.6MM. I guess that's how it goes when your coach doesn't know what asparagus is and tries to fight players on the sidelines.
