Just posting here so I can come back and bump this on the evening of the 2nd.

Kind of a non-argument since the QB wont get him the ball anyway.

unlike most of you I've seen him play and he's all skill no hype.
Well bring the MOFO down here to meet & greet Mr. Peterson

Gerald Jones is an underrated playmaker. I've been saying this all along for 2-3 years now at UT boards.
So if he's been "underrated" for 2-3 years now wouldn't one have to finally come to the conclusion that he sucks?

G-gun's been in Knoxville for about 6 or 7 years now it seems. Seriously how many years has this guy been around?

Surely you jest...
Geraldine Jones will get hurt again. I swear, he has been hurt more than any WR I can ever remember at UT.
Ever since he got rid of his jerry curl, he has gone downhill. He was alright when he loaded up on the Soul Glow. Now, he's useless.
If PP7 gets a shot on him, something else will break on his frail body.
Nice job Gerald. You haven't played since the 2nd quarter win over cupcake UTM, our very first game, and now you talk shite about the best DB in the conference. You deserve what you have coming...

Wow, kind of just a re-run from last week, only people know who Noel Divine is!
Pregame qoute:
postgame qoute from his coach:
Divine's production:
14 caries for 41 yards, 2 catches for 17 yards.
Pregame qoute:
quote:
Devine is confident that a test of speed is one he and the Mountaineers will win.
“I think our tempo is faster than their defense, and I think my speed is faster than their defense,” Devine said. “I don’t think there is much comparison.”
Devine gave praise to his fellow Florida native, saying Peterson is “a nice corner who is pretty fast,” but he quickly added that, overall, his offense has the speed advantage.
“I think they get to the ball well and they are a pretty fast team, but I think our team may be a little bit faster.”
postgame qoute from his coach:
quote:
“The first punt, that guy’s just faster than our guys,” Stewart said. “We had a guy with outside leverage and he just ran around him like [former WVU running back] Stevie Slaton used to run around people. I don’t know anybody as fast as him. Our fastest guy had leverage on him, and [Peterson] ran around him.”
Divine's production:
14 caries for 41 yards, 2 catches for 17 yards.

It's no big deal. He can always blame the QB or offensive line after the game.
When making those statement I forgot that we barely beat UAB.

you're right about that one. no way UT wins this game.
but about G.Jones, I'm not blindly defending him or talking out of my arse just because he's a vol. if any other receiver talked smack like this I'd probably do a faceplam. but by watching Jones over the years I've had strong faith in him and I've always thought he was underrated. believe it or not he can back it up and it's a perfect opportunity too, because of Patrick Peterson's renown.
Kudos to GJ for talking smack......guess we'll see....and I hope like HELL they challenge PP.

i remember jones as a freshman being pretty dangerous when they'd line him up in the gun at QB and give him some direct snaps. dont think he'll make too many plays in the passing game though, tennessee's best chance to move the ball through the air will be to go at stefoin francois and ryan baker on short patterns.

Seems like he is doing what he can to bolster his and his teams confidence. Good luck with that......

Peterson is already mind fricking Jones.

I'm not going to defend those statements. That was pretty dumb on his part. I like the confidence, but damn, calling out PP?? The last thing we needed was a target.

I don't know why we're even bothering mentioning this. Gerald Jones could outpace Patrick Peterson all day and we wouldn't know because Matt Simms will be spending the whole game staring at Denarius Moore or getting sacked.

Dear PP7 -
Give this bonehead a 10 yd cushion until they recognize and throw him a screen. Get a full head of steam and plant his dumb arse. Then, ask him if he felt that when he was watching film.
Welcome to Death Valley Mr Jones.
