I never paid attention to A&M til they joined the SEC. Wondered why the SEC would take the 3rd best team out of Texas at the time. Texas and TT made national headlines in my lifetime. A&M didn't until they joined the SEC.

Crockett was a loser. Sam Houston was born in VA. He just spent time in Tennessee. Yeah, yeah, I know he was governor there but he didn't stay obviously. Sam thought so much of Crockett that he didn't even try to rescue him. What does that telly ya? I guess he didn't think much of Tennesseans.

Can you show that Houston even knew Crockett was -in- the Alamo?
The John Wayne Alamo movie was practically total fiction. Far from telling Travis to "buy him some time," Houston told Travis to not become engaged with the Mexicans in the San Antonio area.
Houston chose a fabian strategy later called the "Runaway Scrape" which maddened the already excitable Texicans but did lead to success at San jacinto.
So many people come on here and just say anything no matter how false or easily exposed.
