Cade was def. held back at UGA.

Dafuq? Three starters from that line is in the NFL. Mays was in rotation with Ben Cleveland at RG.

Great decision to finish 3/4 in the East never tasting victory in a meaningful game.

Tennessee has 5 five-star recruits on their roster. Are they all on the OL?

4 OL all 4 starters...(2 sophomores, a Junior and a Senior)
1 DL

Of Georgia's 15 5-stars...they have 3 OL (2 of which are Freshmen...1 RS and 1 True FR). If you look at the depth chart, they have one starter (Sayler), one 2nd team (Webb) and one (Jones) that doesn't travel to away games and hasn't seen any playing time this week.

Their two Tackles and I think two guards are all 5*. Their center is a 4* if I recall correctly. There is a lot of talent on that line. The two tackles are only sophomores, so they still have some growing to do, but Cade Mays is good and their guard is very good. They'll be solid on the Oline, for sure.

two Freshmen All-American? And that's just on the OL prior to Cade.

All Americans in high school, you mean. Let's not lump all all americans as if they are the same.

I just saw thed epth chart and it has Cade Mays listed above Darnell Wright at RT. Is that right? Is Wright injured or something?

Does not equal two All Americans, though, does it? I mean, I wouldn't even call Freshman All Americans....All Americans. There is a HUGE difference.

Keep in mind, I am the one that complimented your Oline and still think it is very good and will get better with the addition of Mays. I'm just not ready to crown it the kings of college football heavy laiden with All Americans.

Agreed.

Freshman all american tackle means that he's better than the 5 other true freshmen tackles in the country.

If a player doesnt get 2nd or 3rd all conference (or even honorable mention all conference) then the freshman all american label is a little overblown on the offensive line.
FWIW, I believe this for UGA kids as well.

Great for a freshman =/= great

You said that high school achievements don't count. I just listed notable post high school accomplishments. I didn't claim they were All Americans.

Morris also made the preseason all SEC CFN list and 2nd team on the Coaches for this season

i realize/understannd that, but the reason I said high school all americans don't count is because a Vol poster claimed Tennessee had two All Americans on the OLine.

I readily agree there is a lot of talent on the OLine.
Just not All Americans......yet. before they are done, I would not be surprised if one or more can claim All American status, though. (I don't remember, but something in the back of my mind is saying that Trey Smith may have been an All-American last season?)

correct, Trey Smith is the only bona fide All American we have. We are so lucky to have him.

My thinking exactly. I mean it's very good, but not what some might pump it up to be.

And as I said....it wouldn't surprise me to see one or more join that club. My comments were not meant to belittle your OLine at all, merely to help pump the brakes of some of the UT fans hyperbole.

I was a Mays fan. Mays was not held back at UGA. He played a ton and had all the opportunity a kid could ask for as a Fr. -Soph especially on that deep roster. We also have some talented kids on the OL this year. I think you will agree after Sat.

Part of UGAs issue on Oline is that Luke coaches a completely different concepts than Pittman. Pittman wanted a 300+ road grader that was stationary while Luke wants lighter more mobile guys that can pull. Different expectations in body type and skill set. Super talented just maybe not the best fit for Luke.

They looked good against the Barn. CSP is a legend but Luke is a hell of an OL coach too.

Todd Monken want to run the ball. He don't want a light Oline but he do want the Oline to be able to move. Luke tried a lighter LT in Owen Condon and quickly replaced him with Warren McClendon. If anything we have the shortest Oline.

LT Jamaree Salyer 6'4 325 (down from 342)
LG Justin Schaffer 6'4 330
C Trey Hill 6'4 330
RG Ben Cleveland 6'6 335
RT Warren McClendon 6'4 325

The coaching staff have 5* options if they want to move to a much lighter Oline.
