Arkansas did it the right way by having less security which caused less problems in 2014, 2021 and last night.

The amount of Vol twatter fans defending him is absolutely disgraceful.

It didn’t that night. And it served as a hell of a deterrent for others that had thought about it.

TBH normally I normally don’t engage in legal discussions on social threads with non-lawyers for all the reasons that are illustrated in this thread because it is normally all emotion and seldom solidly grounded legal arguments that have anything at all to do with the real state of the law. List Servs and the like with other lawyers are admittedly different.
I do not have to tout my credentials to you and even as a lawyer I understand I will never know but a small part of it overall as it is so vast but that said I know more than most lawyers and most citizens about Arkansas criminal law as one might reasonably expect because I have spent my entire professional life-going on 40 years now-in that capacity, including prosecuting and defending cases which arise at athletic events. But you seem to know more about the state of the law here it appears and do not seem to be willing to listen like some do so by all means please carry on with your misinformation.

Obviously self defense when you push a guy running away from you in the back.
Players not even allowed to do that to other players during plays

Don't post facts in this thread.

The team that had a player arrested for felony assault, (plead guilty to it) and got a 2 game suspension last year.

The decision to press charges is up to the plaintiff
So only a victim, or as you say a plaintiff, can press charges?
Well in that case he should just kill the next fan that runs at him. If the victim is dead, and only the victim can press charges as you claim, then he can’t be charged.
Surely this is all just an act and you are not as dumb as you seem in this thread.

Wtf? If the victim is dead then the family is likely the plaintiff you absolute troglodyte
The plaintiff is literally the party filing charges… so whether or not charges are brought is always up to the “plaintiff”.
You yourself decided to define the plaintiff as “only the victim” …and then argued with yourself.

So, when is the plaintiff filing charges against the Tennessee player? Will you be sure and let us know?

You can't be this dumb.
It is no dumber than saying a player is scared of a fan and has a right to attack them. Nobody was rushing at the player. Nobody was even moving towards the player. But he has a right to attack them because...why, exactly?

You’ve lost your point completely & already wrecked your credibility lmao.
Whether this guy files charges or not has no bearing on whether or not the TN player’s actions were legal.

In a situation where fans rush the field at a college football game in Arkansas and make contact with an opposing player, several laws and penalties could be broken.
But the fan did not make contact with the player until the player turned around and shoved the fan.

What about the LSU player that pushed the Ole Miss fan to the ground last year? Will charges be brought against him too?
I may have missed it, but where are all the examples you were going to provide of players charged with assault? We are still waiting.

So, it is your opinion that the 320 pound DT perceived the 170 pound student as a threat?

You are the one advocating for fans storming the field. I feel pretty good about my position.

The fans rushing at him were not "standing", they were running.
You need to go back and rewatch the clip. they were not running, and they certainly were not running at him.

Does this really have to be explained?

Pathetic deflection. You got called out on ignorance. Lack of a charge does not mean a crime was not committed. It just means a charge was not brought.
I explained the reasons a potential plaintiff may not choose to file (including the fact that they are, you know… fans) & you turned into a parrot.
…I can’t help it if you’re retarded.
