They are going to throw money at Vitello, Tennessee will give him another raise.
They will end up hiring Vaughn which is a great hire.
Vaughn is like Elko. He has connections to the school, understands the school and is an up coming coach. Not the flashiest hire you could make but the smart, sensible hire.

Unless some clear difference maker was banging on A&M's door, I would stick with Earley for now as well. The optics are not worth the options I wouldn't think.
Just for the record in the Vitello vs Schloss debate - Texas Baseball was really in no position to be even worth a damn this season. Middle of the pack SEC at best. I'm not sure how Schloss pieced together this degree of first year success, but he did it - and that's all I need to see.
No way Vitello could have rolled into Austin and got this result right off the starting line. But Schloss did.
Schloss > Vitello all day long.

Bakich at Clemson is who I do *NOT* want them to hire.
Age and winning % close to Vitello and getting Michigan to College World Series runner-up is as good as being at Tennessee and winning it all.
He also would probably jump at the chance to have the aggy donors NIL him a roster.

Time will tell. All I know is I'm happy as hell with Schloss and glad he's leading the program. That's all that matters to me.

Where do you guys objectively come up with this stuff?
Vitello is 7-2 straight up vs Schloss including beating him in the National Championship.
2023: 3-1
2024: 3-1 National Championship
2025: 1-0

Bakich was the guy I wanted us to hire when I didn't think we had a realistic shot at Schloss.

There is no such thing as an amateur athlete in any college any longer, and every college coach anywhere can be bought........
Loyalty to a school/university? Yea, right..............Gumps thought and still think Saban loved UA but it was always about the money, which they supplied plenty of.

In all seriousness they should consider coastal Carolina coach . He is good and will go to A&M if offered

Vernon is a complete and total moron if you haven't figured that out by now.

Surely this will be the time that Vitello finally leaves Knoxville

If this happens then Serreneaux will have to be put on suicide watch.

Nah, he'll claim they are hiring the next Connie Mack.. aka Josh Elander..
For the record, I am curious how big of a role Elander plays there.. He has been with Vitello for a long time.
He isn't at Kirby's level of experience yet and it is a different sport, but the path is similar. I have no idea if he is actually a good coach or not, but everything I've read about him is that he is going to be a great head coach one day.

I’m not interested in having TV coaching the Razorbacks. Winning isn’t worth having that dbag running the show here.

That is one interesting thing about Vitello. No matter how much people on this site love to complain about him, no one would deny that he is a great coach. He has had the same staff since he got to Knoxville with Frank Anderson and Josh Elander. It will be interesting to see how things go when Elander eventually takes a HC job and Frank retires leaving Vitello alone for the first time.

You are taking about a poster who has had this entire board rolled up about VOLS for well over a decade at this point.
If he can troll with Dave Serrano’s VOLS, who couldn’t even make it to Hoover, something tells me he’d be just fine If Vitello ever left

This thread is full of delusions of grandeur from a couple of Longhorn fans.
