That doesn't sound like a June Clever interpretation.

In all seriousness, can anyone remember another defensive player generate as much hype over one hit? For God's sake, the reaction from the RB made front page on ESPN.

Clowney is the best defensive player to come through the SEC since maybe Reggie White.

This would make for a good debate. There are certainly some other candidates.

Name me another surefire 1st round draft pick coming out of high school. Name another consensus #1 overall draft pick after his true sophomore season.

That's what I said. But then again, about 45% of my daily word usage comes from Tommy Boy and Billy Madison quotes.

Reggie White, Derrick Thomas, Patrick Willis, Glenn Dorsey....all better in my opinion.

Clowney is an awesome physical talent and he's getting better, but i think it remains to be seen whether he can utterly dominate a football game. He's close. Next year will be scary.

I agree with all of this. All of these guys were more complete and dominating players. Clowney very well may get there and he is probably the most naturally gifted of all of them, but he isn't there yet. Obviously, he is only a sophomore and he may end up being the best, but to declare him the best defensive player to play in the SEC since Reggie White is an extremely bold statement.

Luck got passed up by some big time schools coming out of high school. Every school in the country wanted Clowney.

Clowney is a true sophomore. Luck was a redshirt sophomore when he was projected #1

You could not be more wrong. Luck only ever considered a few schools. His main focus was academics and then football. LSU was never in the pic ever despite what some on here say. His choices were Stanford, Northwester, UVA, and Rice.
