Yeah. Universities love the publicity that comes from "Outside the Lines". Bout as much as AU loves HBO Real Sports about right now.

LSU invoice corresponds with the DVD's they received:

Nothing to see here.

Few quick questions:
Did we ever sign one of the guys affiliated with Lyles? I was under the impression they all went elsewhere.
Where does this fall as far as NCAA compliance is concerned? Is it illegal to buy a shitty product, or is it gray area that some new bylaws or some shite will address in the future?

the payments for the dvds doesnt look bad. $6000 is not a hair on the arse of lsu's recruiting budget. paid 6000 for a guy to consolidate film for them , where he got it from or where it is available at is irrelevant. they just subb'ed out some film work. bad product or not, it's not like oregon who asked for postdated film after the fact to use for coverup.

Again, the invoice matches what we received. And for a region we were recruiting a QB from, and ultimately signed.
Innuendo is one thing, but the paper trail has been covered by LSU.

can we just have a "everybody cheats" thread and just hold hands and sing lean on me till football season?
Posted on 7/20/11 at 9:18 pm to TigersOfGeauxld
So the fact that Lyles is singing that all LSU wanted to talk about was the Texas high school recruits doesn't make them look bad?
Lyles has got a big mouth.

That information has been out there for awhile.
The fact is, LSU has an invoice matching the information it received from Lyles.

I highly doubt there was ever any personal contact between Mettenburger (mother worked in Georgia Bulldog football office, Athens, Ga)and a street agent from texas.
I would think it would require that we bought influence somehow and I don't see it.
Now there was a LB from Houston that signed with LSU that Lyles allegedly knew,Trevon Randle. So I would guess they are focusing on whether we "bought" influence with that kid.

Really? You wanna buy some high school clips of Courtney Upshaw? I'll sell you some high school videos of AJ McCarron for a $100. Yes, it's the same videos that can be found on YouTube, and yes he's already on scholarship so you have zero chance of signing him, but it'll come with a professional looking DVD case from yours truly.

You want to put together 32 DVD's of JUCO recruits from all over the country? Try that and charge $100.
Not likely.
We aren't asking what you have favorited on your mom's computer. When you are looking for certain videos, you have to go a service that can put this together.
If LSU did something wrong, then they should be penalized. I just don't get what the deal is with this.
On the Akiem Hicks thing, I could see that it was a violation right away. This, not so much.
At least not based on the information we have.

This is why I'm not worried:
Let them dig:

Props to Stewie Griffin for the link.

Let them dig:
quote:
In total, the LSU football program paid $103,896.57 for 14 different services in 2009-10, “each of which must fill out and sign a form designed by our compliance office in order to do business with us,” Vincent said.
To put it in perspective, the $103,896.57 sum spent on third-party scouting services in 2009-10 is one-third the salary of LSU recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson. For that, the program gets access to 14 national databases, which provide much more detailed and organized information than one assistant, a beat up Honda Civic, and an infinite supply of 5 Hour Energy could hope to compose in a lifetime of Excel spreadsheets.

So since ESPN has concluded that the video is low quality does it mean that they think every high school in the US has HD video equipment videoing all the games? Last I checked there is usually one camera that no runs on top of the pressbox(if there is one) and maybe one more run by a volunteer for the coaching staff. Most High Schools cannot afford to film games in HD like ESPN.
Maybe Outside the lines should send camera crews out to every game in the US to help with the quality of the film.
FU ESPN.

Obvious connection to KJCCC: It says Lyles got paid by LSU to evaluate players in the Jayhawk Conference.
LSU signed one player out of the Jayhawk last year – Butler CC quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
Obvious questions: Why wouldn’t LSU just contact Butler for game film and evaluations? Does Butler have dealings with Lyles?

Funny. I just saw a thing where The Texas Network ESPN started is going to start showing high school games...hmmm. Maybe they don't want anyone cutting into their area?
