lots of teams would love that year but at LSUs current level its a horrible year. The LSU bar should almost always be set high.

I guess that is where we disagree, I mean we can admit Florida has just as much if not more talent than LSU. Yet they went 8-5 after their National Championship season. 8-5 is not bad as long as it does not become a norm.

I could take an 8-5 season wrapped around a few 10-13 win seasons.

ok well i had to eat crow on the bama v tech game please all of you who say vandy will win, dont hide when its a beat down

just a hypothetical, but say Vandy wins, would you want Miles fired?

No,because the weasal who coaches football at Arkansas would sneak down and try to be hired by LSU,a school that has actually won something as opposed to Arky with it's proud tradition of wins over the private schools in the SWC.

they went 9-3 in the reg season in 07. we went 7-5 in the reg season last year.

we were sub .500 in conf. That is very concerning to me. The bar at LSU needs to be high bc we have so much talent. Also UF turned it around and looked great in all but 1 game.

We have time to do the same.

We will do the same, the difference is Florida did not have to replace coordinators like we have.

It is one thing to plug one 5* player in for another. It is something different when you replace a coordinator that has been effective with one who wants to add his own wrinkle.

Was Chavis the right hire? I do not know yet, we saw at UT he had a good season and a bad one.
Hell I still have doubts about Crowton, I have never really been sold on him. I think too many times he tries to get "pretty" with his playcalling but it did win a NC so well it shut me up.

I think some questions can be answered this week but the real week for any concerns from week 1 to be answered will be when we roll into athens. We should be able to win by a ton on talent alone these few weeks. I do think we can see some improvement though and see steps in the right direction. If we get to a bcs bowl this year ill be sold on miles and will admit i was wrong to question him after week 1.

not sold on chavis either. the D looked rusty on fundamentals.....namely tackling. i didnt expect much this first game but the tackling should have been more solid. things like that make me nervous.

tackling looked the same as last year. Its a major concern which i assumed chavis and brick would fix.
Another concern I have is how bad our dline looked.

Tackling was an issue last season and during the struggle period in 2007 so I can not blame Chavis for that one.

I was more concerned with our secondary, everyone keeps talking about Peterson and how well he looked. I think people neglect he allowed some passes to be caught on him, and Locker continued to throw towards his side of field. I need to re-watch game to confirm this but was observation I had during the game.

Cooper is suppose to be a secondary guru so I expect to see that improve over the course of the season.

Why do you believe Vandy can not beat LSU?

They have just as good a shot as anyone else.
-I mean hell I doubt Michigan thought Appy State was going to beat them.
- LSU/UAB
- Stanford/USC
- ULM/Bama
- Ole Miss/Vandy
- Ole Miss/Florida
- LSU/Arkansas 2 years running

That is only a small sample of upsets

I am sure it will, but the thing is I do not think it will be a 1 game fix. It may take 3-5 games for the defense to get into it you know?

yea i know what you mean. As long as its on its way to being fixed and gets better every game ill be happy.

Good thing for LSU is our first real test isnt till week 5. So we have 3 weeks to sort out any issues and 3 weeks to improve and tweak
