I would never say never but opportunities keep slipping away. He is a program builder and sustainer which he has done a good job of but I believe he has reached his ceiling. I see him here at the most five years, I can't see him coaching in his 70s.

Sounds like the Bobby Cox of college baseball.

BaseVols will make a lot of teams this year look like they not as good as years past. Things is the Vols are that much better than everyone else RIGHT now and will do this to a lot of good teams.

Better to be in Omaha and have a chance than not be there at all? What happened last year to your team? Or better yet when was the last time your team won the National Championship? Assuming your Arkansas fan since you replied to my response to Arkansas poster. But you could be a side wall State fan who knows?

Last year we won the National Championship....

Stop by and check out the trophy at DNF this year, when you ultimately choke in the Post Season you can at least say you saw it.

Vols were the best team in march. We’re getting better every weekend and closing the gap. Found our closer last weekend. This weekend we fixed the DH situation. Still need another young bullpen arm to emerge to be a complete team.

Nevertheless the best team right now doesn’t mean anything.

Wasn’t for sure if you was a state fan or Hogs fan, but now that you cleared that up I am happy for state. Now just try not to get swept last weekend of the season.

Arkansas fans always get insanely pissed when I say this, but Vitello will win a national title before Van Horn. DVH had his chance, and his dumbass 2nd baseman blew it.

It's a notion I don't particularly like, but it's OK. Norm DeBriyn basically built and defined Arkansas baseball as a competitive team, taking us from a fledgling program that didn't know what the hell it was doing and putting us in the CWS four times, including being the runner-up. He wasn't meant to lead us all the way, but he almost did anyway. DVH is an extension of that man. Our next coach could be the one to do it all for us, but as much as I'd like DVH to get a title before he retires, I suspect he's peaked.

Arkansas baseball is basically Georgia football. It's a meme how snakebit we are, but we'll eventually break through at least once. We have a competitive team year-in and year-out that's a staple in the top ten, we're a threat to make a deep run every year, and everyone is forced to take us seriously. That's all you can legitimately ask for as a sports fan.

Arkansas is a good team but I wouldn't be surprised if they finished third or fourth in the West.

Have you watched the rest of the West play??

In all aspects Arky is a bottom mid tier SEC program whereas the Vols are foundation blue bloods.

Arkansas as a program will stay great just because of facilities, fanbase passion and NIL, but Dave is never winning a national championship. He had his chance. He lost it.

I don't know why you're being downvoted for this, lol. DVH is not above reproach, there's a reason he hasn't won it all yet. I wouldn't say there's wool over our eyes, we're just grateful and we've seen what can happen when programs get too big for their britches and decide they deserve better than being consistently competitive. That's how you get Nebraska, Texas, Miami, Michigan, and even Arkansas football.

I'm fine with him staying as long as he wants, but that comes with the admission that we're not likely to win the NC.

Also, another unpopular opinion; I don't think Vitello would leave Tenn for us at this point. He's settled in, he's becoming their baseball savior, and I think Tennessee knows how much the fans need to be a threat to win hardware at a sport. We'd force him to make a very hard decision, but Tennessee would open the checkbook and that would be that.

Arkansas has been to the CWS 6 times in the last 18 years. That’s more than your program has been all time.

What happened last year to your team?

Won the SEC and SECt, while pounding Vololotello and your Vols in Knoxville in the regular season and then in Hoover.

Or better yet when was the last time your team won the National Championship?

Played for the title in 2018, something Tennessee hasn’t done since 1951.

Arkys most significant baseball contribution is a gif of 3 guys whiffing on a routine fly ball. Arkys flagship in the athletic department is track and field.

Using your reasoning, that would make Tennessee a nothing school?

Congrats.

That's not what this is about. You claimed Tennessee to be blue bloods. In baseball, of all things. Even your football program is more blue balled than blue blooded at this point.
