He doesn't. He has no clue about anything Tennessee football. He said multiple times Ferguson would make or break Butch.

I cant believe they are 0-2 against UF under Jones. He deserves at least 3 years to get it right, but this kinda start next year and he is on the chopping block. Maybe hire Erik Ainge to replace him?

UT signed 6 OL in 2011. 6. 3 in 2013. Again, all I am reading is excuses. You guys can't blame it all on Dooley's recruiting.

ETA:

And 4 in 2010. So, you guys have signed 13 OL since 2010. That is plenty to field at least an average OL.

I'm not so sure Butch Jones won't work out. But I'm pretty convinced the offensive staff isn't going to.

Losing to Florida the last two years and Vanderbilt last year is really shameful.

The guy who couldn't get in to his brother's school and who then couldn't get in to an HBCU?

He should've stayed and rode the pine, we could've found him a nice underwater basketweaving program he could make Cs in. Being a backup on scholly beats the hell out of leaving and realizing no school wants you.

We signed 5 in 2011, 2 of which are no longer on the team. We signed ZERO OL in 2012 and 3 in 2013. so that's a total of 6 Olinemen in three years of recruiting.

There are no OL recruits from 2010 still on the team.

So, we can blame Dooleys recruiting and you don't know your arse from a hole in the ground.

Did Dooley make them leave? Malzahn has had to pickup JUCO players because Chizik forgot to recruit on D. If Butch knew he would be short OL, why hasn't he went that route?

One left early for the NFL the other was horrible and left to go to a FCS school. Butch got one of the top JUCO Olinemen in the country last year. He's not there yet mentally.

You were completely wrong, that's ok.

Sounds like another excuse. But okay. That doesn't account for the other 11 OL that have been signed since 2010. 3 were signed in 09. UT has signed 15 OL, most 3* and better, since 09. But yeah, it is all Dooley and not recruiting OL in 2012.

I wouldn't say he was completely wrong. Butch Jones has had two recruiting classes to do something about it. It's a tough task, not an impossible one. And I'm going out on a blind limb, but I'd say most new hires have significant holes.

But they adjust. There is zero adjustment in UT's offense. Look at the running game...I'm no million dollar coach, but to me the run game is the best way to work with a young offensive line. Instead our run game is centered on delayed reads from the shotgun..that seems like the opposite of what we should be doing, right? And the worst part is that on third and short, we have nothing to go to. So these little pick and pop drives are completely useless.

Maybe it all changes when he's got some full recruiting classes, but so far the results are not encouraging.

Their defense is good enough to win them some games with a competent o line and qb. They have really talented but underutilized skill players. Get a good o line and qb and you could prob see them competing for the east in a couple years. Butch has done a very good job recruiting so far.

okay you guys made it sound worse than it is. that's on jones.

last year we started a freaking walk on at middle linebacker and a guy who had never sniffed the field was our Sam linebacker. Our LB core was horrible last year, this year we have 3 new starters and they are legit. we dont' have depth yet but our starters are legit

Yeah, don't believe what you read on UT's recruiting. They have been recruiting well enough to go bowling every year, and have brought in more talent than MSU.

Proves my point. UT has a coaching issue, not talent.

Are you mentally defective? I just told you there are no players from 2010 on this roster. There are definitely no players from 2009 on the roster.

We have 3 from 2011
0 from 2012
3 from 2013
4 from 2014 ( one who broke his leg in a car wreck before the season)

Dude we are starting two true freshman on the Oline because we have no one else. One of the players played Dline in high school and the other is playing on the outside, he played center in high school.

You really have no clue.

We are starting an undersized center and four guards against one of the toughest schedules In the country.

Jones is the right man for the job. He's facing the same issues that Freeze did when he got to Ole Miss except they are worse. He has no offensive line depth to the point he's playing a tackle with a torn ACL. Once he recruits and gets some depth, UT is going to be dangerous with him at the helm.
