Even Pittman couldn't do anything with these guys. They're out of natural position, undersized, inexperienced, and not very talented. Only Marcus Jackson would be in the two deep at any other SEC school. And there's no way in hell that two true freshmen would or should be playing under any circumstance other than a lack of bodies on an SEC OL.

Vols need to just be patient till P. Manning retires. He will be head coach there one day.

It's not an accurate representation of the running game. We had 100 yards rushing. However, sacks are factored into the total to come up with no yardage.

Where did your 100yds number come from??

You had 41yds rushing... Then Worleys sacks were for -41 yds...

Hurd...40yds
Peterman...9yds
Pearson...3yds
Scott... -2yds
Malone... -9yds

Thats 41yds rushing, Then you had....

Worley... -41yds

ESPN box score...

yes, the 8 sacks brought us to 0 rushing yards, but it's still sad we only managed 41 yards with our RBs. Either way you look at it, it's alarming, and just downright terrible.

Outside of a few plays, we looked decent at Oklahoma, and we looked pretty good against UGA and managed 33 points. Since then, we've somehow regressed into a team that hasn't scored a TD in our past two sec games, losing to a terrible florida team at home when we pulled out every trick in the book (checkerboard, lil Jon, etc) and humiliating ourselves, and looking pathetic against a very good ole miss team. Something has to change, because uk sc and mizz are all losable games if we play like we've been playing.

It is laughable. Going to school here has been unbearable during the fall. We're out of the running by eaely October every damn season.

Was Lane hurt? I thought he'd carry the load for y'all this year...Also, I think Jones should drop the zone-read BS(Worley never pulls the ball out) & go to the "I" so Hurd can hit the line at full speed & also give him a better shot at finding any small seams to run thru...

I think Jones is a clown. He seems to care way too much about what the fans think about him and tries way too hard to impress them.

As someone else said, he can only sell the dream for so long...(hoping that dream doesn't become a reality this Saturday).

He's had nagging injuries his whole time here. He has shown flashes but he's never put it all together. Both our freshmen on the roster have way more upside than him.

We run a lot of gap read so it looks like a read option, it's really just a delayed handoff with no QB option. Our o line sucks though, so these gaps are never created. We need to change out running scheme. It's not like it can get any worse. We keep trying to run a system with the wrong players. We need a system that tailors to our players strengths, and what were doing currently simply doesn't.

The scheme is not changing. The coaches refuse to use a TE chip block...you think they are going to change a whole scheme?

There are only two outcomes here. Butch either recruits well enough to his system that he makes it work, or we bomb miserably.

The abortion of an offensive coordinator that we inherited from the Big East is going to be the downfall of Butch Jones. He is loyal to a fault with his guys that he has brought from Central Michigan to Cincy and now Tennessee. It's like Fulmer, he was loyal to the wrong guys for too long (with exception of Chief and Cut) and it backfired.

Folks, the CURSE OF STOERNER is real...

I'm actually encouraged and look for a the typical year 2 jump in year 3 for our program.

We return 39 of the 44 in our current two deep (23 of those are true freshman). Also we add in a top 3 recruiting class that has two 5* DT's, a 5* WR, two 4* QB's one PP and one DT, and 3 4* OL so far. Also top JUCO RB Alvin Kamara.

The future is bright we just need to be patient.

I still think we get 6 wins this year as well.

SC is a dream matchup for us and after we get that win, we can go into our bye week heal up and be ready to win AT LEAST two out of KY, Missouri and @Vandy.

Calm it down.

Still no QB.... and probably a crappy OL... The defense will be stout again, Tennessee is going nowhere quickly.

How do you know Dobbs won't develop into a great QB?

Also that OL will go from having 6 starts coming into this season to having 60+ next year with another year to develop and become a cohesive unit. Add in more talent to the defense and more weapons on O and an easier schedule and you have a recipe for a big jump.

lol. That is what we were saying the last 2 years to other teams.

I think Worley is suffering from David Carr Syndrome. That guy had a rough time with Houston. His first year in 2002, he was sacked 76 times and still holds the NFL single season record.

Worley looks the same way. Takes the ball and starts running for his life. I think it has destroyed him as the season has gone on because he started out looking decent. After the GA game, people were praising him when he went out when his elbow got banged up.. Peterman stunk it up, then Worley came back in and almost won them the game.

I just think the lack of protection has taken its toll.
