based on my extensive knowledge for years on the NC process, these are the teams that deserve to be recognized as National Champions:

1938 Tennessee
1942 Georgia
1950 Tennessee
1952 Georgia Tech
1954 Oklahoma
1960 Missouri
1966 Michigan State & Alabama
1973 Oklahoma
1975 Arizona State
1978 Oklahoma
1983 Auburn
1984 Florida & Washington
1985 Tennessee (yes, with 1 loss and 2 ties)
1994 Penn State

It's all good man. Just saying Au was the 83 champ and that is just the way it is. Just because a handful of voters fricked up doesnt change the reality of the situation of the 83 season.

Lol then so is Bama in 1977. Same scenario. Notre damn lost to ole miss. Alabama beat ole miss. Both Alabama and ND lost at the start of the season. ND jumped from 5 to 1 after the bowls. Like I said, wasn't the first time a team got screwed. shite happens

No it wasn't. Miami lost their first game.

To Florida, a team Auburn beat, by 25 fricking points.

Lols.

So what? Alabama defeated Ole Miss in '77 by 21 points - the same Ole Miss team who upset Notre Dame the very next week - and still finished #2 behind the Irish that season. This despite the fact that both teams finished 11-1 on the year and despite the fact that Alabama's loss was far better than Notre Dame's (the Tide lost to a Top 10 Nebraska team in Lincoln by a touchdown).

The only truly questionable claim we make is 1941.

One and it is the above, MSU has a far greater claim to that one than Bama.

Alabama has absolutely zero claim to that one. Under any circumstances
