I'm not into this...

BUT I really feel Auburn SHOULD claim 1983 and 2004. Could say 1993 too...but not as much as the first 2.

Finish number 20 in the AP Poll, right? That’s the Bama way, right?

If Alabama used the system they’re accused of using, they’d claim more than 17.

LSU could and should claim 4 (1908,1958,2003,2007), with some Bama stretching we could claim 7 (1908, 1935, 1936, 1958, 1962, 2003, 2007)

I guess discretion has to play a role at some point...

1913 AU. Allowed 13 points by 2 teams. Shutouts against the rest.

This type of thing is a joke.

Was Auburn severely under-served by the system? Absolutely. Were they a victim of a very unfair system? Absolutely. But regardless, Auburn did not win a National Championship in either 1983 or 2004. To claim you did would be an embarrassment.

This goes for Arkansas in '64.... Ole Miss in '63... and all the other bogus titles teams like Tennessee and Alabama claim.

I feel the same way about Georgia claiming the '42 title.

If the players, coaches, and fans were not celebrating a National Title immediately after the game with a trophy presentation, then you didn't win a National Championship. I distinctly remember Auburn fans being furious at the system and feeling dejected at the end of the '04 season for not getting a chance to play USC or Oklahoma for the Title. You can't 15 years later pretend as if Auburn nation was jubilant and celebrating a National Championship at the time when history says and remembers otherwise.

Bama doesn’t claim any questionable titles (with the exception of the 1941 which most Bama fans are embarrassed by) after the AP/UPI era began.

All these other fans want to make fun of Bama but then be hypocrites when it comes to their own titles.

How many other teams in the the early 1900s only allowed 13 points, went undefeated, but don't claim a title? The forward pass had only been added to the game 7 years prior.... scoring was not nearly as common.

Was Auburn the best team in 1913? Possibly. But we 100% have no clue and we 100% know there was no trophy presented to the team at the time.

Then y'all can't claim 1942 anymore. Can't have it both ways.

Bogus 1964 Bama claim? There is an AP trophy and UPI Trophy sitting in Tuscaloosa. Bama didn’t go to the pawn shop to have those made.

04 Auburn didn't play a single AQ OOC.

Yes, this is true. But you do throw around "17" or how every many hyped up titles you have which is a joke. Any title won prior to 1936 is meaningless. There was no system to judge or even know which teams were best. So claiming titles from the 1910s, 1920s, etc. is laughable.

Yet his Dawgs claimed 1942 over 40 years later and never actually got a trophy for it.

HISTORY says there's not a champion in 2004, #2 got blown out and #3 won their bowl...
HISTORY says #1 and #2 lost their bowl games and #3 won

Why not claim them?
