SEC championships are less significant when you have an at large bid all lined up. It’s sweet you guys normally have to put it all on the line to eek out that auto bid though.

A soldier survived mustard gas in battle, and then pepper spray by the police. He's now a seasoned veteran.

Sure, sure. Forgot all of NW Arkansas has zero poor people

What is considered tournament success since ultimately only one team can be successful?

Winning games in that tournament. I think the natty or bust mentality doesn't apply to basketball.

Not a lot of high school talent in Arkansas. Maybe the addition of Texas will help them get more Texas high school recruits?

This. During their SWC days they were a national power because they could pull kids from Texas. I think it also HELPS you to have an instate rival. You push each other.

The bigger deal was they had Hall of Fame coaches like Frank Broyles and Lou Holtz roaming the sidelines.

When has Kentucky or Arkansas won the SEC in football? Answer the question…

1950 and co-champs in 1976. Undefeated in the SEC in 1977 but was ineligible for NCAA issues.

The point is the answer isn’t 0 and we’re not talking shite about never having won an NC in football to one who has.

They have more basketball championships than Bama.

This is arbitrary. Makes sense you'd devalue tournament success since Bama doesn't have much.

Multiple Bama fans said last night they wouldn’t celebrate a Final Four or a Runner-Up in basketball. Something about “loser mentality”.

So consistently winning games across the course of a season and winning the SEC is insignificant.

I learned something today.

Now is that just for teams who have only managed to do it twice?

It is an interesting question.

Would you rather win the SEC and make the Sweet 16, or win .500 of your conference games and make the elite 8?

I have a feeling how this will break down amongst the fan bases.

What about SEC tournament titles? Where does that fit in?

I don’t think you understand what SEC team gets an automatic bid to the NCAA

Elite 8 but I wouldn’t poop too harsh on the other one either.

? I didn't say that. Weighing conference titles and tourney success is an arbitrary evaluation. I think a regular season title is really good! Let's recall this conversation started with the claim that Arkansas hasn't accomplished anything significant, which is wrong.

I’d rather go to the Elite 8 or the Final 4.

Something that Bama has failed to go to the Elite 8 in a long time or never been to the Final 4.

SummerofGeorge needs to hold a basketball fandom clinic for some of these folks

I don’t, but NW Arkansas is a decent sized area. It would be highly unusual if they didn’t

Would rather make the Elite Eight. Hands down. It’s about what you can produce in that NCAAT at the end of the day. Winning the SEC is nice but what matters is what happens after that.

Great if you’re not getting in as an at-large. Sadly, the NCAA Committee doesn’t take our Sunday championship into consideration in seeding unless someone steals an at-large bid.

Also, fun to win but it’s not an end all, be all. We lost to Vandy in the SECT in 2012.
