The ITATers and Clay Travis seem to be ignoring the word directly in their oft quoted NCAA Bylaw. Directly implies that players knew that they were doing something to help Al Betar sell merchandise. They were complicit in his marketing strategy. That is difficult to prove. As far as they knew, they were signing some jerseys and gloves for a nice guy who is a friend of the program.

I trust you. While I may have my moments, you are consistently more clever than I.

Whining is going to happen in every thread. Bama and Auburn fans alike both whine when something could hit. I'm just glad this finally got a sticky and didn't get deleted.

Doesn't seem to fit the typical pattern of today's college athlete.

Okay I have no doubt that if a group of 10 students showed up with the intention of buying a suit a piece as well as accessories a shop would pull the gate. There are most likely two floor people. They cannot adequately service 10 people as well as any walk ins. By pulling the gate they maximize the speed with which they can fit every student. By doing this they decrease the amount of time before they can accommodate their walk in customers. Standard practice for large groups in a retail setting.

I don't know if the are profiting while they are students, but a lot of players certainly profit right after graduating.. Quid Pro Quo??? They sign tons of memorabilia while they are students, but get repaid with large autograph sessions and commercials after wards?

just throwing it out there.
