Herman getting blowback for lying to UH players and a lot of people also think Strong should have had more time.

Not exactly a honeymoon.

There's also the pending lawsuit from their former track coach Beverly Kearney. Her lawsuit states that her race and gender played a role in the ADs decision to fire her from her head coaching position. She has specifically used the Mayor Applewhite affair as the basis of her lawsuit. Major got a slap in the wrist for sleeping with a student trainer while she got fired for sleeping with a student athlete. Texas hiring Major would further validate her point that Texas admins are racist. (They really do seem like it for not firing Major on the spot)

Spot on with the exception of the comparison. Majors was a very short thing & Kearney had a long term relationship with her direct athlete... & gave her some big time perks.

Bottom line, Texas needs to be as far away from Applewhite as possible for now.

There's a thread on tiger rant talking about how Aranda will stay at LSU because ut doesnt have any talent. UT is a shitshow, sure, but there's plenty of talent there. Of course these are the same posters who think LSU has more talent than UA too.... LSU has talent, but not more than Bama, and UT also has a lot of talent, they're just soft.

It hinges on how soon he is looking to move up the ladder. He is already set to have a strong defense at LSU for the next two years. The players are there and he already has his system in place. He will almost certainly start getting offers to move up next offseason and should get ones that are hard to refuse if he stays around for the next.

UT does have talent, but they have a lot of young guys whose confidence is in the basement after the last two very difficult years. That doesn't just fix itself. It took Saban a year to get Bama on track, and it took him 2 years here, in a situation more similar to UT's right now.

They also don't have amazing ready to play depth yet, either. All that will come in time, but you're talking about a minimum 1 year detour to take that job and get that unit on the right track. He would do it, but they are NOT set up for immediate success.

It all comes down to where Aranda wants to end up (rumors say the NFL) and how soon he wants to get there, because the money isn't going to be radically different.

I'm hearing he told Herman he wants to be coaching in the league in 2 years & LSU is the better route now. Heard nothing real if Texas is coming back with crazy money or not tho.

OK, when LSU hired Aranda from Wisconsin all of the fricking rant said how Wisconsin was not an SEC school and their high ranking defense was fools gold. Now all of you so called experts, especially Alabama fans are saying were Aranda will coach. You guys are MORE hilarious being wrong all the time. Don't y'all have an SEC championship game to worry about? I doubt LSU fans would have any interest in your program if we had an sec championship game the next weekend!!! By the way everyone laughed when LSU hired Saban from Michigan State, now everyone thinks he is a God!!

The seems most plausible

Also the timing isn't about timing as much as it is about teaching your system

The article said UT isn't bringing Applewhite back. You're saying that's a mistake?

No mistake. Major is not welcome in Austin. Had a sexual situation with a female student trainer. Mack Brown saved him but Applewhite had to go when Brown got canned.

Meanwhile a female head track coach got fired for a "situation" with a female athlete. Women's groups were up and arms and there is a lawsuit pending. sips trying to hide it.

Meanwhile there was old Mack Brown coach aka Dirty Nasty, that was canned by Brown. Acquisitions of sexual improprieties with female staff still being swept under the carpet. It will be under the radar as long as Big Money still lasts.

Didn't LSU's so called "bad" coach drop his wrinkly sack all over the hogs?
