It's great to see SEC schools striving to make academic improvements.

Aggies and their imaginary academic chip. They feel good because it was hard to get into from Texas yet the real world really doesn't and won't care.

Yes, I'm glad Arkansas is improving quality while putting more Arkansas kids into higher education.

No, both of my statements express this sentiment:

Averages are misleading

I'll take responsibility, I called out the OP for making "dumb Aggie" comments on other threads.

I hope all SEC schools strive for academic improvement. But then again, that doesn't matter to the Arky posters in this thread apparently.

Texans are inherently insecure. They think everything is being measured against them.

Texans have to be recognized as having the biggest and best.

Aggies are not as bad at UT fans tho.

This thread is hilarious. Arky fans start a thread about how they'll be a top 50 public university soon, and promptly get called out for that feat not meaning a goddamn thing. Then they start backtracking, claiming rankings don't matter in the first place and that what university you hold a degree from doesn't make a frick of difference.

i didn't start the fire but i do believe the quoted part to be true. i believed it yesterday and i'll believe it tomorrow- i've seen it with my own eyes. however, isn't it always good to try and improve yourself (your university?)? should i make some trashy texas comment like you would? nah, i'm good and secure.

Of course A&M is a good school, they have a great engineering program. You taking my one comment as law shows either you have some pretty thin skin or just aren't that bright. A&M fans always need to stroke their dicks whenever academics are mentioned, though. Nevermind that over half the fans on here probably didn't attend a single class at A&M.

If we stay where we are we are a shitty school. We try and improve, Aggy tells us "well you're still shitty". Guess what, we didn't ask you. Arkansas is a state that ranks 48th in bachelor's degree attainment, so more AR kids getting degrees will help our state's economy. We aren't improving to participate in a dick measuring contest, we are doing it for ourselves.

I see it differently....

He was announcing the improvements his school was making.

Some Aggie came in here, probably feeling threatened that a thread about academics did not recognize ATM's perceived academic value, and brought the attention onto himself/ATM.

Then a bitch fest started...

Good for Arky. Good for the SEC.

Your reading comprehension is a bit off.

Rankings matter to a degree but you can get a great education anywhere. You can also get useless degrees, just ask your server at the College Station Olive Garden.

The point we were making is rankings are nice but just because you don't have a high rank doesn't mean your education was shite.

Feel free to point out where you disagree

Sounds a lot like our "Vision 2020" plan. Not all of the changes in that plan have been good ones.

And our "LSUForever" plan that has been ongoing for years now. We have achieved Level 1 status, but these arbitrary "rankings" that US News & World Report purports to assign is preposterous.
They don't know a blessed thing about LSU.
LSU, despite state budget cuts (as is happening across the country) still maintains billion dollar research projects with the Pennington Biomedical Complex, the new LSU Medical Center, and many top 25 programs and curricula.
