cute buts its not that big of a deal.... Texas A&M adds something like a billion dollars to our endowment every 6 years.
And just going by other schools in the state its done all the time.
Rice has added a billion to its endowment in the last decade and even baylor has spent half a billion on campus improvments.
I know to an arky grad a billion seems unbelieveable but really its not.

That doesn't just compare the beginning salaries. Put on your reading glasses old man.
TAMU starting salary = 50,200; mid-career = 92,700.
Compare that to North Texas. 39,400 and 68,600.
Or simply use logic. TAMU is more difficult to get in to than North Texas. Logic dictates that over time the average TAMU grad will do better in the real world as well. It's not that difficult.

Means nothing when I can higher a kid from South Alabama for $80,000 to do the same job.

When the job is equal I'm taking the kid from North Texas for cheaper that will work harder because he doesn't have that Aggie education chip on his shoulder.
Again, you have a frick load to learn. No one magically pays you because you graduated from Texas A&M over North Texas. I won't hammer you to hard because you just don't know yet.

A gift of $300 million was the largest gift ever in the history of public education philanthropy. "Biggest ever" is not done all the time, sorry.

Oh so now you're Rice??

Higher a kid?
Apologies if I doubt your claim that you are hiring anybody. Unless you are head janitor somewhere...

This is why no one will ever respect an arky degree....
Are you really trying to argue that a north texas degree is the same as one from Texas A&M.
God you rednecks are slow.

All the anecdotal evidence ala "The Pursuit of Happyness" isn't going to outweigh the statistics. You're basically implying that anyone with a good education is lazy and anyone with a lesser education works harder, which is a complete falacy.
There are plenty of situations in which someone comes out of a good University and thinks they've got it made and don't have to do anything after that, but again, acting like it's a hard and fast rule is ridiculous.

Make a rebuttal instead of pointing out a grammar mistake.

I love how Aggie always brings up the salaries, as if every A&M grad is a petroleum engineer with 20 years of experience

Averaging is a hard concept to understand.

Why does my assistant have an MBA from Southern California?

Correct. It only gives you a start over high school kids and helps you network for your first job. Other than that it gives you zero security especially with degree mills of today's society.
When hiring people no one gives a shite where you went to school. Are you the right man for the job, are you cheaper than the next guy and work hard? Yes, you're hired with that Santa Jose State degree over someone from USC.

You can get a good education anywhere. Pricy college is a bubble about to burst

So then why did you start a thread about Arkansas's ranking?

Alabama has been there for a while.
quote:
The University of Alabama has consistently ranked as a top 50 public university in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report and has a selectivity rating of "more selective".[46]

Let them have their fun until reality smacks them in the face soon enough. Especially in an ugly economy with massive regulations while China is building entire Hotels in 30 days.
LINK
Obama wants more regulations on business therefore I sure as hell won't hire some Aggie because he thinks he deserves more for a piece of paper with a different logo compared to someone from Cal State Fullerton.
Everyone has a college degree today it separates no one. People with MBA's are begging for mid-level jobs right now and they have a debt to pay also.
"Here is your college degree" from said university.. "Now frick off we have money to make off the next kid." That is real life.

I know plenty of Aggies (alums) who are complete dumbshits, working shitty jobs.
Yes you have a good engineering school, yes you have other programs that are good, we get it.
But chill out on the were better than you talk. To be honest I am not sure if it is a Texas thing or not. So no hard feelings.
