I was under the impression that was only after they had made the team as rookies. I've seen different things listed.

Yep, and I think teams have $75k to divvy out in signing bonuses among them.

I read they signed contracts in the event they made it, but that they weren't guaranteed money except whatever their signing bonus is.
They are each paid the $300 whatever thousand salary plus a bonus?

Yup, I was hoping we would be able to grab a linebacker early in the draft, but picking up Franlin is a good move. Him and Danny Travathian will probably play a lot with DJ Williams suspended the first 5 games.

I'd have to look more into it, they changed a lot of things up in the agreement.
I don't think teams are on the hook for much, other than the bonus. They'll get rookie minimum if they make it, but I'm not sure if there's money involved for week by week participation in training camp for ones who don't.

Do not know how they pay in training camp exactly now after new collective bargining agreement but it used to be everyone (rookies & stars) got the same pay per week during camp. It was like 100 bucks a day 20 years ago, when a relative went to a NFL camp as a free agent out of Slippery Rock
The regular salary is divided into 16 pay periods
