Sounds like another ex-Florida quarterback that now plays for the Jets.

Why are you do Tebow butthurt?
Don't deny it because it's obvious.

I'm not. I can admit he was a great player, just not the greatest ever. Heck, He isn't even the greatest Auburn player.

I haven't seen anyone say he was the greatest ever.

The only thing preventing him from being the greatest Auburn player is the fact that he only had the chance to dominate for 1 season. He had the greatest Heisman season that anyone's ever had.
And Tebow is exactly what I said. A great person, but not a good quarteback. Put all of your homer, biased opinion away and watch him play a NFL game and you'll think the same. The dude had a 46.5 completion percentage last season for crying out loud. He's horrible. His running ability is the only thing that is keeping him in the NFL.

Personally, I like Lester a lot, and playing for Nick Saban raises his chances of being drafted high. But you have to look at all the other talented safety prospects coming out next season. TJ McDonald, Matt Elam, Ray-Ray Armstrong, Eric Reid, Tony Jefferson, Bacarri Rambo, etc...
The safety class will be deep next season.

The NFL and CFB is comparing apples to Oranges. But Ok, I take the bait.
1.Tebow is for sure not in the same vein as a manning or Brady. yet, He took a losing team to the playoffs. I didn't see Cam Newton do that.
2.I have seen plenty Auburn fans say he is the greatest ever. It's their opinion, but I disagree. Hey, you can't argue with how good Cam was and I won't, but I am old enough to have seen Bo Jackson play at Auburn and I feel Bo>Cam.
3.It's hard to compare 1 season(cam) to 4(Tebow), but if you look at just their Heisman seasons the numbers are comparable.
2007 Tebow vs 2010 Cam Newton -non-biased conclusion
4.I mentioned collegiate prowess and not professional. With that said I would like to see Tebow succeed in the NFL, but if he doesn't it won't both me as I much prefer to watch CFB than the NFL.
5.Why I wish Newton luck in the NFL you seem to want to see Tebow fail( I could have read you wrong and if I did, I apologize).

Tebow will never be abywhere near Brady or Manning, ever...
Plus, let's also mention that the Broncos had the better team last year. Cam Newton had the best season a Rookie quarterback has ever had. He also had the best season a "dual-threat" quarterback has ever had in the NFL. Imagine the Panthers last season without him. Just think.

Maybe when talking about Auburn's history. I've yet to see one say best ever in terms of college football history. He did have the best Heisman season ever, though.

The Heisman numbers are comparable until you look at everything Tim Tebow had to work with, compared to what Cam Newton had at Auburn. Tebow had the far superior supporting cast. Plus, Auburn went undefeated in Newton Heisman season. Florida lost their bowl game during Tebow's Heisman year.

I find this very hard to believe.

No, not at all. He's just not a good NFL quarterback. Period. He's been pretty bad outside of a couple of drives in which the Broncos defense put him in a position to win the game.

While I respect your opinion, I do disagree with it. I never said Tebow was comparable to Brady or Manning, in fact I said he wasn't even in the same vein.
Why? I would like to see him successful as I feel he would be good for the league and a great role model to the youth of America. If he fails I am sure whatever he puts his mind to do next he will do with the same gumption as he did football. I really could careless one way or another because I will always be a fan of the man before the football player. Before you say it, I am a HUGE fan of the football player as well, but I really just care about his football career at Florida as compared to anything done in the NFL.
I just have a huge disdain for the NFL anymore and I used to get just as involved in the NFL as I did CFB, but the greed and lack of moral fiber that is reviled in the NFL just isn't my cup of tea anymore. While I still root for my childhood favorites it just isn't the same to me.
Again, I respect your opinion and know that we will never agree on this and that is fine. I get your points and they are some valid points, but I don't happen to share them.

This looks like a good place to leave this.
Greg McElroy: Tebow talks more about ’09 SEC title game than I do

quote:
I couldn’t resist asking McElroy about his new quarterbacking teammate, Tim Tebow. So does he bust Tebow’s chops over the 2009 SEC title game duel won by McElroy’s Tide over Florida?
“He’s brought it up more than I have,” McElroy said with a smile. “No, actually, it’s really great to have Tebow up here. It’s been a lot of fun working together. Obviously, we were rivals on opposite sidelines for a number of years, but now that we’re removed from it, we respect the game a lot and we both like to prepare in similar ways.
“We both have a great passion, so I’m just really, really pleased to have him. He’s been a real pleasure to add to the quarterback room with myself and Mark (Sanchez). “

Exactly. Broncos D is the reason for the playoff game not Tebow. No doubt TT captured the fans support, but he performed horribly for a starting QB of an NFL team.

Alabama reserve NG Nick Gentry talking/negotiating with 3 teams: Chiefs, Patriots, & Ravens.
All 3 run a varying degree of the 3-4, and all 3 have an Alabama/Nick Saban connection.

Hope Gentry gets signed. He plays hard and has real chance to make a team.
