It recieved some attention. If it were to happen here we would have had national guard escorting her around and news cameras following her.

Do you realize what the back lash would've been if ole miss had denied her.
I know people love giving ole miss crap about pc things but every university in the south should be thankful, outside of ole miss, that ole miss is held to an unfair standard and held under a microscope. Because if ole miss wasn't the whipping boy for the media to bash some one else in the south would be.
Don't act like your university doesn't give material that the media could use against your university.

It was in Time Magazine and every other major newspaper throughout the country. Jesse Jackson showed up

And when have I ever done this? Please. Don't play the fricking victim game. It makes you look ridiculous

I don't agree with the "everybody is picking on Ole Miss" argument.

I wasn't accusing you, but some people on here like to live in phantasy world and act like their university never participated in anything not politicaly correct.

The fact that this has already received more attention on twitter than the vandy rape case speaks volumes.

Do you know WHY Ole Miss is held under a microscope? Or do you honestly think the media is just picking on you.

WHIPPING BOY?! Are you fricking serious? This is why you're Ole Miss.

Dude....
Ole Miss elected its first black homecoming queen last year.
People jump on stories because of the history. I don't imagine that my football team is super gay-friendly, but I know that the cultural environment on campus is different than it is at Ole Miss.
Its a given that saying and doing things like that aren't acceptable. Similar to how its a given that people don't walk around the campus with rebel-flags on gameday.
Ole Miss is different. And I don't appreciate you trying to lump the rest of the south together with you.

I first read about it in the New York Times. Yeah, it received a touch more than "some attention."
