Laramie Project is a biased story. The guy wasn't murdered because he was gay, he was killed because he was a drug addict.
Hmmm, nope. No he wasn't murdered because of that. And even if he was, it would have been just because of weed usage? So then nearly everyone in the US should be murdered?
Here's what happened, because you are a fool:
quote:
On the night of October 6–7, 1998, Shepard met Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson at the Fireside Lounge in Laramie, Wyoming. It was decided that McKinney and Henderson would give Shepard a ride home.McKinney and Henderson subsequently drove the car to a remote, rural area and proceeded to rob, pistol-whip, and torture Shepard, tying him to a fence and leaving him to die. According to their court testimony, McKinney and Henderson also discovered his address and intended to steal from his home. Still tied to the fence, Shepard, who was still alive but in a coma, was discovered 18 hours later by Aaron Kreifels, a cyclist who initially mistook Shepard for a scarecrow.
quote:
The prosecutor in the case alleged that McKinney and Henderson pretended to be gay in order to gain Shepard's trust.During the trial, Kristen Price, girlfriend of McKinney, testified that Henderson and McKinney had "pretended they were gay to get [Shepard] in the truck and rob him". McKinney and Henderson went to the Fireside Lounge and selected Shepard after he arrived. McKinney alleged that Shepard asked them for a ride home. At trial, McKinney offered various rationales to justify his actions. He originally pleaded the gay panic defense, arguing that he and Henderson were driven to temporary insanity by alleged sexual advances by Shepard. At another point, McKinney's lawyer stated that they had wanted to rob Shepard but never intended to kill him.
It's not "propoganda". It actually happened to someone because he was gay. And was killed for it. Is "The Pianist" propoganda to hate Germany based off of them killing Jews in the holocaust to you as well?

I lived in Arkansas for a few years. I knew and still know a lot of Arkansas fans. I could tell some stories too. I saw many examples of open racism there.

I don't think anyone would ever suggest that such issues don't exist everywhere. It's the response by the university that will be illustrative of the institutional stance.

The Chancellor and Athletic Director have issued a solid statement:
LINK
I believe the administration is handling this appropriately, unless there is a solid reason to believe otherwise. So it's a non-story. A group of players did what many players throughout the SEC might do, and they will be addressed.

No,what is sad is trying to turn perversion into a "rights" issue.

Why is this a big deal? The new puritanism. People looking to be offended by anything.
Athletes have been behaving like this for...well, forever.

Pathetic. Idgaf what your personal views are, but you have to be respectful in life. This is the complete opposite of respectful. They went out of their way to antagonize. If you don't like it, don't go.
Know how I know you didn't go to college? Because anyone with a shred of common sense that has taken an elective would realize that these young lads aren't connoisseurs and attendance was mandatory.
A 'Bama fan that didn't attend 'Bama?

Pretty much been debunked. He wasn't killed for being gay.
But drama queens will run with it for all they can.
