Jeeze, enrollment smack. Central Florida at 60,000 says hello.

So what does all this mean?

Just said y'all are smaller and younger. Both true statements. One of your own disagreed and I backed up my statement.

That's all this is.

I originally registered as Jizzney World, but an admin sent me a message requesting that I submit a different name if I ever planned to post on this site.

Point being that name changes do happen at an Admin's whim

I get that, perception is reality. and right now, perception is that the Eggies are on top of things. Why actually play the game and show otherwise.

Something that texas has capitalized upon for the majority of its athletic existence.

That's reality. TAMU has finished ranked ahead of texas both years since we have switched conferences while playing unquestionably stronger schedules. We also have the advantage in recruiting. That perception is, in fact, reality.

I just told you. It benefits texas more than it benefits us. Y'all made your bed with the whole "OOC is full" gambit. Now y'all can lie in it.

So Ketch has changed gears from "the coaching search of a generation" to now begging A&M to play tu again...

I'd rather hear more about the blue ribbon panel of coaching search advisors. What are they up to?

You are right that Ketch is the Texas version of Looch but at least Looch would never throw out postings like the "Greatest coaching search of all time" comedy that Ketch puts out. For good or bad both of those guys are the 2 most quoted and most powerful voices on the internet for the 2 programs.

Personally I think both programs would benefit from the game coming back but neither "needs" it. Texas right now is still looking for some magic panacea that will bring back 2005 and it just isn't going to happen. It's going to take a long time to dig out of the mess you have put yourselves in and many things simply can't be fixed.

Aggies don't believe what Ketch says. We laugh a it. Tsips have finally realized that its all b.s. because it has blown up in their face. Same thing goes for Mack and Deloss.

The first shot has been fired, countless more are on the way and an eventual victor isn't yet known. Hell, I'm not even sure those involved in the looming battle truly have an idea of what they are in for.

However, I feel very confident in saying the following … the rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M is baaaaaack.

And possibly in a big, big way.

One of the more underrated aspects of the final fall of the Mack Brown Era over the course of the last two seasons is the complete role reversal that took place as it relates to the relationship between the two top schools in the state. For years, Mack Brown had his way with the Aggies, relegating them to second- or third-class status in their own state. Yet, as Mack Brown's final swan song morphed into a final ugly duckling song, the Aggie Triplets (Kevin Sumlin, Johnny Manziel and the SEC) went flying by the Longhorns at such a rapid rate that it's hard to say that a battle even took place.

Almost overnight, the Aggies were in the pole position as the cool kids in the state, as the Longhorns couldn't quite figure out how to overcome their own negative momentum, coupled with A&M's meteoric rise. Kevin Sumlin and his coaches rolled into College Station ready to go 12 rounds, but found themselves flying away in the Swag-copter in 93 seconds because it turned out that Mack's recruiting chin was softer than anyone knew.

However, we all know how Charlie Strong feels about soft things …

"You can get it hard if you manage it the right way," Strong said on Monday in his opening press conference.

Damn skippy, coach!

As Strong's vision for his support team has taken shape, it's pretty clear that he's not coming into Austin to settle in recruiting, as you can practically see the words "recruiter" stamped on the forehead of almost every assistant coach hire that has walked through the doors. It might be too late to make a huge difference with the 2014 class because three weeks makes it incredibly difficult to create the kind of relationships that can overcome the 24 months of sweat equity that the competition has already put in.

Yes, Mack Brown came in and made an immediate impact in the days leading up to National Signing Day, but he was hired on December 7, which essentially gave him eight weeks to make those waves and recruiting was so different back then that most of the decision-making in recruiting was actually made in the final weeks, as opposed to what we see today with early recruiting. Again, Strong has three weeks once the dead period ends and his coaching staff is in place.

The real battle for state supremacy begins with the 2015 class and the Aggies have a bit of a head start in terms of sweat equity, but there's not a kid in the state that won't open the front-door and take a listen to what Charlie Strong has to say.

And that's when it will be time to start keeping score.

Perhaps the best part of this looming showdown between Charlie Strong's Longhorns and Kevin Sumlin's Aggies is that there will be two sides willing to scrap against each other. Say what you want about Sumlin, but he's not someone that anyone would ever suggest is shaking in his shoes at the thought of doing battle against a rejuvenated program in Austin and you're not paying attention if you didn't think the decision by Zaycoven Henderson to flip his commitment from Austin to College Station was anything other than a first official shot across the bow.

It was almost as if Sumlin sat back for a few days and listened to the words of Strong on countless national platforms and decided to send a message.

"Just a reminder that this state has been ours for the last 16 months," the card appeared to read.

Strong's response was to insert the likes of Tommie Robinson, Chris Rumph and Chris Vaughn into the game as recruiting soldiers. You can bet that this group will have a salvo of its own ready for Sumlin in the coming days and weeks.

While we might not see these two programs on the field against each other for a while, the off-field competition might be bloodier than we've ever seen because the sides competing against each other don't appear to be the sort to simply give an inch to the competition in the name of avoiding confrontation. Therefore, a great battle is inevitable and the stakes are massive, as the staff that is unable to win this big-picture recruiting battle will find it much more difficult to enjoy the spoils of championship rewards.

Buckle up, folks.

The Texas/Texas A&M rivalry is back
.

I can agree that the recruiting battles are gonna heat up but as long as we have the sEC up our sleeve and we continue to win games we will do just fine.
