Recruiting isn't Richt's problem its the coaching up of these top players he has trouble with.
You're right, I don't know anyone who would say otherwise.

Nkemdiche is a Bama-Lock. Its not even a secret to most who follow recruiting. MM was thought to be a bama lean but never close to a lock.

Fair enough...I'll bump this thread on NSD and see how much ya'll have improved since this.

Why does UGA in-state recruiting suck so bad this year? Only 2 of the the top 30 (according to Rivals) in the state are committed to UGA at this time. And 14 of those 30 are committed elsewhere. What's up with that?
UGA gets a lot of players from SC, FL, and NC too.
The state of GA has always been raided by FSU, Auburn, Bama, Tennesse, and even UF.
One thing though is this: UGA is the only school since 2001 to have a top 10 recruiting class every year. That is damn impressive for Richt, but very depressing to realize what kind of talent was pissed away.

Except Foster is already committed,
A 2013 kid already committed in 2 straight down years for UGA football. If you think the recruiting battle for him is over you're insane. Especially if we navigate the SEC's easiest schedule this year.

You can tell I wasn't trying to get out of it. I updated like 5 threads asking for a link.
I'm a man of my word, I made a bet and lost. I'll take the results.

I'm not talking about Nkemdiche, and yes i do follow recruiting very closely. Again, i'm not saying that you guys aren't going to have a hell of a year "raiding the state of Georgia", but i'm saying IDGAF because recruit wise we've never had a problem.

Can you resize the one from the thread? I can't do it and can't search for it again until tomorrow night if even then.
No worries either way.

I'm on my cell now, I'll try tonight when I get home.
We'll work something out even if it is changing my fav team to uf.

UGA is surrounded by NC contenders (Florida, Auburn and Alabama) and we haven't won a NC since 1980, so when you can still be close to home going to a school in one of the border states, why not go to a contender instead of a pretender? We had a damn good class last year mainly because the cupboard was bare offering early playing time opportunities. This year recruits will have to compete with some pretty damn good players so that is also a factor.

This article proves my point of Georgia recruiting well out of state as well as in state....It also says how badass Foster is, so it's a win-win.

Also to take into consideration, Georgia is a state into which many people move. So Foster's family is from Birmingham and he grew up in Bama and as a Bama fan, so how "instate" is he really? High school coaches have also gravitated towards the state for better benefits leaving UGA to have to deal with the likes of former Bama walk-ons coaching instate kids and refusing to drive them to Athens and Jimbo's best buddy down here in Lowndes. Just more noise out there. BY the way, Geno Smith is a very good recruit who came out and said that he dropped UGA because of their DB haul last year so sometimes good recruiting in the past doesn't help in the present class. shoulder shrug. Anyway, if UGA finishes up with the people rumored to be very close to committing or already silently committed, I will be quite happy with this class overall.

To be honest, this year is a wash anyway due to us needing solid lineman. Which BTW I think we are recruiting good in.

I don't chime in much, but when I do...I kick arse.
I haven't read this thread fully, but OP...you are stupid to think we'll stay where were at.
I have no reasons to support this...but go
yourself.
In-state recruiting has never and will never be our problem.
Coaching....
I told you fricks I'd be back in 1 week and 2 days.

As far as 2013 goes:
We have commitments from the #1 QB of 2013, the #1 player in SC, the #1 player in Florida, and Safety Tray Matthews (who will be a top 15-20 player in GA)
This year in-state we have Jonathan taylor, James Deloach, Quayvon Hicks, and Leonard Floyd as big guys in-state. Outside that we have two OL prospects who recruiting services don't know too much about given their very limited camp film (Brown and Pyke), a 5* OT out of Florida (Theus), a JUCO ILB that was committed to Bama last year (Shannon Brown), two JUCO's out of GMC (WR Lonnie Outlaw and Jalen Fields), arguably the top kicking prospect in Marshall Morgan, and that doesn't even touch on the guys who we are still very much in the running for (some of whom we are in the lead) including Jordan Watkins, Jordan jenkins and John Atkins from GA, Nelson Aghoilor and Avery Young from FL, Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley from NC, JUCO WR Cordarelle Patterson, WR Joel Caleb out of VA, and CB Yuri Wright out of New Jersey. And, again, the season has yet to be played. If UGA puts up some W's, it could open things up for some guys
