Hint: Being ranked or having an “easier” schedule wouldn’t change Vegas line in this game.

Why not? Vegas lines are set generally to get equal action on both sides. If people see that Florida is expected to win 6 games this year and assume they are terrible, it absolutely would cause more people to bet on Utah, which would drive the line in their favor. That's the argument I am making.

However, our defense was absolute garbage last season and we should be fairly good this year.

Micah Leon is the UConn transfer.

UGA has more difficult cross over games. The only difference is that their rival is pretty terrible and you guys scheduled Utah.

FSU being this far ahead of Napier and being worried about Kentucky away shows how fast he's cratered this program.

Additionally the excuses about mertz's offense at Wisconsin are hilarious. The Gators made a guy who is likely to start this year in the NFL look horrific with their scheme

They hired a guy who grabs his nuts in spring games that had a defense ranked in the 40s but has fun press conferences I guess?

You're right, if Georgia had to play Georgia and not a shitty Florida team, things would be waaaay different

UF is perceived to be a bad team because they are likely to have a bad record, which has more to do with the difficulty of their schedule than the quality of the team (vs #1 Georgia, @ #5 LSU, vs #7 FSU, vs #11 Tennessee, @ #13 Utah).

If they played 2 or 3 top 13 teams, they'd likely be expected to be an 8-4 or 9-3 team. Decent, as I said.

this is a fair point

It's going down because heavy action is hitting Florida. Sharps don't get in this early unless they want to drive the number down and come late and hammer the other side.

IOW this doesn't mean what you think it does.

but that gator is retarded blaming the schedule on their hope to beat Utah lol

It's what they do. Blame others instead of their team.

If you can’t beat a dead in the water Ute team you’re worse than people think you are. And we think you’re pathetic……

Or because there is publicly available news that Utah has QB injury issues.

Trying to figure out how your problem somehow lies with Georgia or your potential lack of wins is Georgias fault because of scheduling. You’re the university of Florida and making excuses when dealing with Utah

Because two of their OOC games are Utah and FSU. Their cross divisional opponent is LSU.

So, they have Utah, FSU, LSU, Georgia and Tennessee.

We have Tennessee and Ole Miss and bad OCC opponents. Yes, I know the SEC made us cancel the Oklahoma game, but it is still the schedule we have. It is what it is. Florida has a much tougher schedule than we do.

They also lost their backup QB. I bet it goes in UF favor by game time if Cam isn’t cleared.

Bro Florida had a losing record with 7 losses last year with a top 10 draft pick at QB. You think they're going to improve replacing him with some scrub from the big 10?

Most people know that AR was drafted on potential. He did some things last year, but not a lot. Honestly the end result was not much better than Emory Jones or Felipe Franks but with more highlights.

We have some things going against us and some things going for us.

Oline will be our best in a very long time. Since Meyer years. Running backs are really good and we have great depth.

WR are young. We have one reliable returning receiver.

QB is a question mark. A former 4* who started early and often at Wisconsin but was generally so-so. Was that because it's Wisky or because he sucks? We'll see. But a game manager is likely what we need now versus a guy who takes a lot of risks, makes a lot of highlights but also has some low lows.

Defense has a very strong front 7 and questionable DBs. A great QB can exploit that. We'll see how the line and defensive coaching compensate for that.

We're not in a bad spot, but as mentioned the schedule is brutal. Really bad. Hardest in memory. A normal schedule and I'd say this is an 8-4 or 9-3 season. But going 7-5 or 6-6 wouldn't shock me at all.

If Napier keeps this class rolling 2024 will be much better.

Florida's starting center also injured. This game could end up being a shitshow.
